This is why I love the NBA pure entertainment at all times. The NBA has by far the best off season and trade deadline out of all the major sports.

Are we sure Haliburton is ever a multi time all star like Sabonis already is

Haliburton to me is a guy that projects in his final form as someone almost every team can use to help win a championship. Like a Malcolm Brogdon at his peak.

At his peak he isn't going to be your best player, but think a more well rounded Lonzo Ball or peak Malcolm Brogdon. He can organize your offense, play on and off the ball at a high level, knock down threes, get to the rim, defend up and down positions. He raises your floor and your ceiling and basically works in any configuration you have.

The thing with what the Kings did is they basically said frick the rebuild and locked themselves into a core with probably a 6-8 seed ceiling. 2nd Round in the right year.

I dont hate the trade on a talent for talent level, but think it signals the Kings as the team with no sense of how to put together a winning franchise

Not to shite all over our day, but doesn’t that kinda sound like us? We’ve created a set of golden handcuffs with CJ. We are not a top 2 team in the West. We really don’t have a ton of flexibility.

Zion/BI is a much better top 2 than Fox/Sabonis imo.

And McCollum as our 3rd best player, compared to... Not sure who'd be their 3rd best player.

I agree with this. NBA Twitter and podcast pundits make him out to be James Harden, though.

I think that depends more on his next contract. If you sign him again after 2 years to a 4 year deal at the same pay or with an increase, yes, you're screwing yourself. But if he'd sign maybe a 2 year deal you could eventually trade him with your remaining picks for the next lead guard.

Flexibility to do what? We ain't landing any big fish unless you get lucky in the draft or through a trade.

Look what flexibility got the team this past offseason and that tells you all you need to know about New Orleans as a destination.

Yep. Stephen A is “disgusted” he knows the Pelicans aren’t doing anything. Poor CJ McCollum. JJ redick just agreed and said he’d have rather seen him go the the 76ers. Zion already has one foot out the door. Pelicans need to be thinking about what they can get for Zion in a trade. Etc etc

Who knew trading for a good player would get such negative press lol.

In the same 2 minute rant, Stephen A:

-Feels bad for CJ going to a poor organization
-Feels bad for Zion being somewhere he doesn’t want to be
-Feels bad for Willie Green who he’s very high on

So transparent at this point lol. The organization is surrounding a good coach with good players and it’s all negative.

I could peel apart the absurdity of that logic, but at the end of the day the best thing we can do is make Stephen A eat those words by winning and making Zion's wandering eye look silly in the face of a great supporting team competing for chips.

Winning is the surest way to make Stephen A look like a fool

We have no clue what we have in Zion. I’m not talking about talent, but desire to be here.

This trade makes sense. I support it and will be rooting my arse off, as I’ve done when Dan Dickau was our future. It was necessary to see if Zion will come back and want to be here. I get it.

This could turn bad but it was a necessary risk.

Facts…

I guess I believe Willie can do for the Pels what Sean did for the Saints.

Really?

With Zion and BI we have 2 top 30 players in the NBA. Add CJ and Jonas and thats 4 top 50 players.

Herb is quickly developing into a top 75 player.

We have a shitload of picks still left.

We have all the flexibility in the world.

I’m with you homie, but Zion may not be.

I’m gonna stop being a wet blanket because today is a day we should be excited about. Our team got better.

Heard the Nets, 76ers, Pelicans and Thunder were / are trying to figure out a deal with James Harden, Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons as part of it. James Harden would end up in Philly.
