What the frick is Morey thinking? I would jump all over that.

SacTown trading Fox and Haliburton in the same season would be wild, but completely reinventing their team might not be the worst idea.

Why? Graham was a Plan D pivot

Yeah, for some reason almost immediately when the signing was announced, I guess out of sheer desire to want a positive to emerge after constant disappointment in FA, Graham began getting heralded like he was hand-picked for this squad as an integral piece, when he's always been a fallback to a fallback to a fallback option,

I like him as a future 6th man, but I cant imagine Griff sees him as some foundational, near untradeable piece the way some fans have come to think of him.

I mean if the Kings were smart they would just acknowledge the sunk cost fallacy of their current thinking and recognize the assets they have are neither getting them, or going to be the core of a good playoff team currently.

They should sell Fox the way the Sixers sold Jrue, hold onto Haliburton as the first building block, then tank out the season and build through the draft a few years.

That’s dumb for Morey to decline that deal. I would take that deal in a minute if I were them.

They think that the same deal will be there tomorrow, and they might even get a better one. Morey has time.

More and more it feels like the Pels are well down the pecking order on any trades. Teams have to sort through their first, second and third options before getting to the Pels. Our best bet may be to acquire a player as a secondary facilitator in a bigger deal, perhaps absorbing a veteran contract into our big TE in return for a pick. Just feels like everyone is big game hunting for marquee players in a win-now push. Maybe we can figure out a way to turn that to our advantage…

You're not kidding. He will never get an offer better than that. However, not sure how this "source" knows what the Kings "considered."

I know many do not want to admit it, but Graham has been bad. He does not offer much more than 3 point shooting and that is very streaky. His defense is not good, he is small and not a great shooter.

More bad luck for Indy.

Rick Carlisle says Domantas Sabonis has an ankle sprain “that is probably going to be significant."

A significant ankle injury could be 4-6 weeks, the trade deadline is 3 weeks away. If Simmons is on hold and Indy doesn't have much left to trade, I wonder if we see much activity at all.

The entire landscape is changing rapidly with both of their bigs being out. Looks like it’s coming down to Grant, Simmons and the Kings. Could make Hart more valuable

At this point, I will be happy with at least two moves:
(1) Absorb expiring player + cash from a tax team for a 1st.
(2) Trade Sato for a player with an extra year of control to preserve his salary.

Wait until the offseason to see how things unfold unless a star player is really available.

so would you trade Sato for Kemba/Fournier/22 Knicks 1st?

Morey interview on local Philly radio:

Daryl Morey: “I can tell you that for sure, there are deals with the Sacramento Kings that would work."

Dang. Morey also said that they've lowered their demand for Simmons from a top-25 player to a top-40 player.

Yes....

If Fournier actually does fit within the exception(Trade Machine says no, but I've read that it would work).

I guess it depends on if the Knicks have any other trades in mind before the deadline. They already gave up a first for Reddish, but if they are still looking to dump salary for Free Agency next year then we should jump on that.

That would give you a lot of contracts in the offseason and more draft capital to potentially unload on a guard that we need. You would essentially have....

Evan Fournier $18m
Josh Hart(assuming we guarantee his salary) $13m
Devonte Graham $11.5m

With Kemba though, I'm confused on whether or not we pick up his dead cap hit. His salary cap number is around $9m, but also has the $9m dead cap number.

Thats more in line with Simmons own value, who I don't consider top 25, so that might actually get things moving finally

What he really meant was that there are deals with Sacramento that would work with Fox coming to New Orleans, but he didn't want to meet Griff's asking price of 2 1sts and Thybulle for Sato, and he's just holding out hoping Griff lowers his asking price for the GOAT Satoransky.
