Indy wants to keep winning though, and this rumor speaks to why I think Fox will be a difficult get for the Pels because the Kings have it in their head, like the Pels, that winning this season really, really matters.
So they are gonna want one of our established good players, and probably ones we arent willing to part with, ala Jonas/BI/Herb

We also know that Griff has been talking to Indy since last year on potential trades. Maybe we didn’t meet their price for Sabonis but would if it got us Fox instead.

I just find it hard to believe that Griff will trade either Hart or Graham.
I very much an tempering expectations and think it'll be fringe moves like Sato, Didi, Naji, and maybe NAW and Hayes on the move. TPE may be in play.

You’re going to have to give Indy more than picks, that’s why I put Hart and Graham out there and not Hayes or NAW. But the alleged asking price for Turner before the injury news came out was 2 1sts and a young player. Not a present value return.

Or if they do decide to build around Fox, maybe we could help facilitate and land Brogdon in the process.

Brogdon can’t be traded this year because he signed an extension.

Which makes sense when word has been they favor Sabonis and see him as the one they prefer to build around.
Now here's a hypothetical, would the Pels be willing to facilitate a three or four way trade if Indy shuts down Sabonis for Fox(which I think they would)?
Do we facilitate something like Jonas + Lavert and pieces for Fox? Hope Indy is still motivated despite the Turner injury, and send lesser draft capital(like only one first and maybe a heavily protected additional asset) and Trey(or something similar) to Indy and get back Myles Turner? Pels end up with Fox and Turner, Indy gets firsts and Trey Murphy, a true SF/PF prospect they have lacked, Kings get Lavert and Jonas. Maybe even see if you can rope a fourth team like CHA and move Holmes for PJ Washington and picks/pieces getting exchanged.
Kings can run out: Haliburton, Lavert, Barnes, Holmes, Washington, Jonas
Pels when healthy field: Fox, Herb, BI, Zion, Turner w/ Graham/Hart as sixth and seventh man
Pacers field: Brogdon, Duarte, Murphy(Holiday probably until Murphy shows he's ready), Warren, Sabonis + picks to add and develop pieces
Hornets upgrade Plumlee, which they have been looking to do, including wanting Holmes before and get: Ball, Rozier, Hayward, Bridges, Holmes
You would have to tinker here and there, if nothing else to make salaries work, and I know some Pels fans are gonna say no to letting Jonas go, but I think every team can believe they won their press conference and got better. You might give up Jonas's rebounding and offense, but you add elite rim protection to counter balance Zion and Fox's liabilities.
...Of course if you dont love Fox none of this makes much sense for the Pels to do

That seems reasonable, Sabonis, I imagine, will not come nearly as cheap since they see him as someone they want to build with

The Pacers have been using last year's Aaron Gordon trade as a benchmark for their ask on Myles Turner, sources tell @JaredWeissNBA.
Orlando was seeking two first-round picks and ended up receiving Denver’s protected 2025 first and R.J. Hampton.
and that seems about right. two late firsts. but that's not what they seem to have been asking for.

Question is do they even get that any more with Turner's injury?
Posted on 1/19/22 at 10:02 am to Bronc
Yeah, they're apparently seeking an all star level player for Sabonis
Posted on 1/19/22 at 10:03 am to Bronc
I can see them getting a protected first and a role player. Maybe 2 2nds and 2 bench players if the offers start to fall off.

At that point I expect Indy to just hold onto Turner and revisit the offers in the summer.
They've shown too many times before they aren't gonna accept too low of offers, so I think the price will largely be the price and Indy will either get it for an injured Turner or they will hold onto it.

Yeah but you have to start worrying about the injury factor. Turner has played 67, 47, 42 games the last 3 years and that shows a decline. That’s also before this current injury so who knows how healthy he will come back. You also have to think about the Oladipo situation and how it only got worse for them.
Posted on 1/19/22 at 1:02 pm to Dantheman504
I mean if I'm Indy and only getting 2nds's offered, I wouldn't play Turner another minute this season and then move him for highest offer in the offseason.
At this point there is no real upside to selling him low right now.

Comments from Embiid suggesting he's on board with waiting for a better return on Simmons.

Yet it really was Embiid, upon closer inspection, whose weekend words carried the most heft. After the Sixers zoomed to their ninth win in 11 games on Friday night by beating the Boston Celtics, among a variety of comments to express how pleased he is with how the team is progressing, Embiid announced that he sees "really no urgency to change anything."
"I think we got everything we need," Embiid said, noting that Philadelphia has been a 22-9 force this season when it has its All-Star center in uniform. "We're gonna keep on going and I'm happy."

We need to find a way to get in on that. And unlike a lot of teams that aren’t actually bottoming out, Indy wants picks. Maybe Hart or Graham and 2 picks to Indy and Fox to Nola?

Why? Graham was a Plan D pivot and has been mediocre. Hart's free agency was strung out for weeks and he only got 1 guaranteed year.
Griff/Trajan are not beholden to either of them. If swinging for the fences means bye-bye Hart or Devonte, then so be it.

The Pacers are ~8 games back from the PLAY-IN and are 1-9 in their last 10. They are not winning and will not win this year regardless of what they want. They are tanking whether intentional or not. The constant trade rumors cannot help either.
I don't think Indy needs an all-star for all-star style trade. They can bottom out unintentionally (not tanking) and use assets acquired from trades to add better fitting pieces for Carlisle next season.
