I'm not even sure how you can sit there with a straight face and say he's a small upgrade to NAW.

Because I want a bigger upgrade for what it would cost in assets and cap space to get him.

We're talking about a 6th man type here. Whether you think we need a bigger fish is irrelevant as a true 6th man is still a piece they need.

Like I said from the beginning, I am not in favor of any trade where any future assets of any import (1sts, good players) go out. I don't think we need to do that this year.
Expirings, TPEs, 2nds, young players that don't matter, fine.
I'd rather hold on to any assets unless there is a REAL difference maker.

Pacers say center Myles Turner will be re-evaluated in two weeks due to a stress reaction in his left foot.

Oof
That's basically like every GM's nightmare scenario.
Put a guy on the block, signal he's not part of your future, all for him to get a potentially lingering injury that makes him difficult to move at the price you wanted.

Pacers center Myles Turner is expected to be sidelined beyond the February 10 NBA trade deadline, sources tell ESPN. Team says he will be re-examined in two weeks, but teams interested in trading for Turner will have to do due diligence on injury as they weigh offers.

Well, he plays in about half the games a season, so he really is not much if an upgrade at all because he never plays.

Ok yeah, Philly just doesn't want to trade him.

We have that guy in Graham, which is why it's imperative we find a legit starting PG.

Philly is kind of dumb for turning down that deal.

Graham ain't a 6th man in skillset or mentality. He can shoot but he's no a scorer who you give the ball to and let him dictate the game. That's never been his game. NAW is the closest thing to a 6th man type but he can't buy a bucket most of the time.

Yeah, true, you would like him to be more of a three level scorer, but as a reserve last year he averaged 14ppg on 41.5% from three. 63.6% TS, up from 53% as a starter. Similar split the year before as well. Much better off the bench.
Graham just performs significantly better when you are letting him beat up backups and his role is clear and defined as a guard gunner.

I mean what kind of leverage does Philly think they have? At some point teams are going to just start offering less right?
They wouldnt even consider a package with Fox as the top option and now not even interested in this.

Simmons could be trying to dictate where he wants to go.

I think the people speculating that they are holding out for Dame are right.

Morey wants Dame.

I mean I get that lol. The fact that he wont play for them kind of overrides that point .

Philly is nuts if they think they could get him for Simmons and Portland is nuts if they would do that.

Morey has all of his disciples lined up to facilitate, OKC, Minnesota, Houston, and Sacramento. They can flip Simmons into young players and picks.
