When are teams going to start saying "frick this guy"? Now he's attempting to force the Sixers to trade one of their young players just because he's butthurt that they want to move off of one of his clients?

Once LBJ is gone and Giannis/Luka is the face of the NBA. It be much more enjoyable to keep up with the NBA. Good riddance to him.

Draymond and Simmons on a team together

Not ideal but Steph and Klay create enough space. Just make Draymond the bad stretch big. The defense with Draymond, Simmons, and maybe 80% Klay would be good enough to cover the muddled offense.

They done messed up if they included the Kings. I'd jump on that and move him before he can take it back..

Hield, Barnes, Haliburton and Mitchell

For

Simmons, Maxey and Curry

Done and done.

Edit.. money doesn't fit. But if I'm the Sixers I just want Haliburton and Mitchell, plus Hield would help. That team would be a defensive terror adding those two plus Embiid..

I think this is a bit different in that Philly doesn't want him and has been trying to trade him for quite a while now.

I'm guessing it's a lot less like the Dame situation where Portland would likely work with Dame in some fashion. I don't see Philly doing that at all here.

All that being said to point out that the real issue here would be the receiving team. Teams won't want to send out a big group of assets for a guy who will be a malcontent, so they won't offer or will offer less, which will lead Philly to likely take the offer from one of the teams Simmons wants to go to.

It's a vicious cycle, but I don't know how or what rules can be made to stop it. It would be dumb of Philly to take a lesser offer just to stick it to Simmons.

With Maxey though, if I'm Philly and I don't want to deal him, I simply say no. Maxey can complain all he wants, I wouldn't budge on that one.

For me, the answer is no, but should we?

Pro:

The team would have a 3rd all-star. We'd have another elite creator and an outstanding defender who can switch on every pick. Our lineup would be huge -- we'd get every rebound, and our team defense would be legit really good.

Simmons has lived in South Louisiana before, and he has some familiarity with the culture. Despite the fact that it's not what Klutch wants, Simmons would benefit from getting out of the pressure cooker of a big media market. And if there's anyone who can fix his shot and his confidence, it's Fred Vinson.

Anyone else want to do the Cons? I think they outweigh the Pro argument I just made, but I wanted to put the pro-Simmons side out there to spark the discussion.

Cons:

Hes a Klutch guy

It really seems like he doesn't care that much about improving his shot. I don't think even Vinson can fix it if he doesn't really care like Lonzo did. I saw a warmup video on Reddit with him one time and dude gave no fricks about his shot. It's bothered me to this day.

Hes 99% not going to sign an extension with us due to reason number 1.

Did he play down here? Yes. Did he enjoy it? By all accounts, no.

We'd have to give up B.I. in a trade. frick all of that.

No, Philly isn't going to get anyone back remotely as good as BI. Not from us, not from anyone.

As much as we laugh about guys like Schroder overvaluing themselves, Philly has painted itself into a corner with Simmons and is going to get dukey back for him now.

I think that SAC is the most likely destination for Simmons, because Sacramento's owner really wants him.

You're no fun, Fun Bunch. We need something to talk about.

Edit: And I am pretty sure that I remember reading that David Griffin had made calls about Simmons. I mean, Griffin supposedly made calls about everyone this offseason, but still ... I do think that the idea is worth considering, even if I agree that the answer is no.

I don't know. Haliburton is really good. He can slide into the PG spot. I think he can be an all star within a couple of seasons, especially in the East. A package from the Kings would be really enticing. They really want Lillard though. That's what they are holding out for..

He didn't enjoy going to class. He didn't want to "do school." But did he dislike South Louisiana? I never heard that.

No way he’s coming back here man. Rich Paul is gonna force him to a large market. And frankly I don’t want his bitch arse on our roster. Talk about having that “dog” in them, Simmons is a certified siamese pussy.

Another young star we can forget about using our warchest to acquire down the road.

I fricking hate Klutch. Someone has to do something about them. They are making it impossible for small markets to compete with big markets. An agency shouldn't have this much power.

That sucks. We have no back up PF. We will have to go "small" again. Put a 6'5 Hart or a 200LB Murphy in the spot. Ingram will probably play 20mpg at PF as well. I can't see Hayes playing more than 2-3mpg with either Val or Hernangomez. Not the ideal situation.
