When is the last time a team let someone get an offer sheet in RFA and matched it?

It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen. Hayward and Batum had theirs matched. If BI was getting a max from another team we would have matched. But he just got it from us first.

Markannen is still out there as a RFA. That one surprises me more.

I feel like if we could get him on a decent deal, it would kind of even out the Ball trade.

I've given up on anything major happening. We still technically have time but it just seems unlikely.

We will *probably* sign at least 1-2 more people (Hart? MLE? Willy?) but that seems like the most likely thing now.

because similar to Schroeder hes a player asking for much more money than what he’s worth. He’s really not that good

Yeah, Hart, Willy and maybe either a backup big for Zion or Jackson.

The FO seems like the obvious answer.

Because they gave up assets to create space to sign a FA and thus far have not used such space (either via FA or trade). There is still time though.

they have to because otherwise it is proving impossible to

-This board. We are going to have to overspend. And even then it might not work.

Not sure why Hart would want to stay, unless he simply can't get a better offer out there.

B/c they were naïve to think they could throw money at Lowry/CP3 and they'd come here, when they knew damn well that neither of them wanted to come here.

You don't build a small market team through free agency. You do it through the draft and trades.
Unfortunately, we don't have a draft pick next year b/c our GM is an idiot and doesn't understand how free agency works, and he had to get rid of the shitty decisions he made last offseason.

There's obviously still time, but if we don't make a big trade by tomorrow, this will be a colossal failure of an offseason. No one will fault you for not signing FA's. But not making a trade falls on management. He had last years trade deadline, as well as this offseason to do something, and looks like we will have done nothing, while losing assets in the process to get marginally better.

Would like to know what teams still have money left to spend.

There are a few guys out there who aren't stars (other than Kawhi) but could still be solid rotation players at least.

Kawhi - injured and who knows, returning to Clips?;
Shroeder - probably best as a sixth man;
Oubre - ballhog knucklehead but can get hot;
R. Jackson - looked great in playoffs;
Danny Green - did I miss him signing somewhere?;
Hart - we know him well;
Markannen - crappy on defense but has offensive skills;
Iguodola - ancient guy who will sign w/ contender;
Millsap - looks pretty cooked;
BOOGIE - see Millsap

Am I missing any other interesting names?

You do it through the lottery. Actually you do it through the top of the draft. Not in the 20s lol....

I said the other day if this mega trade doesn't come to fruition it will be kind of sad that we focused on pipe dreams and missed on guys like McDermott who fills a need and signed a reasonable deal with a small market team

Danny Green is going back to Philly

We aren't using the space we have to sign a FA. the purpose should be to take back a salary in a trade where we don't send anything back out. Either you target a key player that you want and expect to be a main player on your team for a few years, or you target someone who can contribute as a backup but that you are taking back as a salary dump simply so you can gain some assets, like Kevin Love or Pat Beverly

you're right.
who needs guys like Brandon Clarke, or Desmond Bane, or Saddiq Bey, or Maxey, or Precious, or Quickly, or Pritchard, or Landry Shamet, or Divincenzo, or Huerter, or John Collins, or Jarrett Allen, or OG, or Kuzma, or Hart, or Derrick White.
What a bunch of worthless non lottery firsts.
