Real talk: Zion's family putting seeds of doubt he'll be staying here has drastically hurt our chances to convince players to take a chance on us. This is not good. Zion hasn't come out and denied anything, he has let it go and it has affected the franchise. Need something major to happen and quickly

Have you watched Caruso? Guy was the lakers best consistent perimeter defender. Can cut and is a respectable shooter. Hustles hard out there. I’m not even a lakers fan and I can tell you how much of it’s a loss to the Lakers compared to Bulls losing Satoransky. Also shot 40% from 3.

I take a high energy motor hustle guy at 9 million any day. Plus he is coming from the Lakers. Who knows that when you leave that team, you somehow magically become even better.

Well, you don’t know his family set up in Dallas and it’s also no state taxes in Texas. So, he may have chosen to stay where he was. Still kinda sucks tho because I would have liked him in NOLA.

Is he an all star signing? No. But he’s a great shooter on a cheap contract. That’s a pretty good plan D. We just need one more piece please so we can make an ACTUAL playoff run.

But that could have been an albatross of a contract if he regressed to his Knicks days.

It shouldn't surprise anyone. No Free Agent of any worth besides Peja has signed here

Part of the problem is we've yet to show proof of concept with this particular roster. If we go out next season and show we're a feisty playoff team and Zion looks like Thanos, then we'll likely have more luck in FA (outside of those top tier guys who want to play in 5 cities no matter what).

If he was that good the Lakers would have put him on Booker in the playoffs instead of letting Book score 30 a game on 49/43/94 shooting. Book didn’t come close to those numbers the rest of the playoffs.

He is a good energy and hustle player. The Lakers easily could’ve found a way to match that salary number and they didn’t think he was worth it.

Griffin quite simply has gotten punked over and over again this offseason. Horrible. Idk how anyone on this board or anywhere could defend him at this point. he has royally fricked up an easy situation to the point where we have about a 1% chance of keeping Zion past this season.

Welcome to team Nunn. It’s Nunn or Done at this point.

This take is so dumb. Even if we were the worst team in the league, theres > 1% Zion signs a new contract just from money perspective alone.

Don’t blame him. We are a trainwreck. Luka also greater than Zion and Luka is actually going to stay in Dallas.

Also, there is no state income tax in Texas. So 4/74 vs 4/88 is closer than people think.

We are talking about a player that makes more money from Jordan than he does the Pels. I don’t think the contract matters to him.

Ah so you just don’t understand the NBA or their contract structure. He’s got 2 years on the rookie deal left then will probably get $200+ million.
