Coach having a hard time benching a vet for a rookie. Happens in every sport.

It's a lot easier to do in a rebuild, which is what we're supposed to be doing.

Also, it's not like Lonzo is some established player that warranted playing time based on reputation.

At this point I'm feeling like they should have just traded the pick for a veteran the coach trust, if we're just not gonna play the kid.

I keep wondering if SVG is playing Lonzo so much to boast his trade value, hoping he starts putting up good stat sheet numbers. But, if that is the case it has backfired. Lonzo has not played well and I’m not sure why Kira hasn’t gotten some playing time in light of this.

Trade value of Lonzo and Bledsoe decreases if they aren’t playing. I fully expect to see one if not both traded at some point to open up space for more minutes for NAw and PT for Lewis

I get the feeling this is going to be a pointless area of contention when we’re looking back on this in a few months.

Such prisoners of the moment.

You should really give this context

But Kira should definitely be playing over Lonzo who is a complete liability

Absolutely. No reason for the 13th pick, where we are in a dire need of an injection of talent, to not be playing

Every other 1st round pick, bar RJ Hampton, has gotten more minutes than him so far

Plus he showed in the little minutes he got in Phoenix, that he could really contribute

Infuriating

You want them to grow but don’t want to play them. This organization man. I swear.

No it doesn't. It only happens with ignorant coaches who hold on to some archaic code that rookies need to be seen and not heard. Remember Byron Scott? How'd that turn out for us.

That's what you get when you hire a tired old mediocre retread for a coach.

So far all I've seen from David Griffin is he's able to make no brainer trades, but is suspect at drafting players or hiring coaches.

Three strait losses AT HOME in games your winning in the 4th quarter is a coaching issue. Period. If the Pelicans win just 2 of those games they'd be 1 game out of the top spot in the West. Now they head on the road for 7. They don't win at least 3 of those games they will be in a hole again just like last year.

Wake up and stop listening to these fan bloggers y'all worship.

You mean like the fact that he was averaging 16mpg, played in all 9 games before this one with no injuries or other bull shite reasons, and has been taking minutes away from Matisse Thybulle? That context?

If we go half the season and he doesn't get on the court, I am all in favor of pulling a Demps and trade all the picks at this rate.

the more you play him, the more you’re just exposing his inconsistencies
