Rounding out the top three would be Bruno Mars and The Weeknd.

Probably arguments to be made for a few but Prince was spectacular, without a doubt.

That was the day I learned who Prince really was.
Its the wildest instantaneous change of opinion I've ever experienced.
The things he made that guitar do that day were just magical.

And who was that?
The opposite of weirdo sissy that I spent the first 20+ years of my life thinking he was.
People 5ish years older than me probably knew this all along, I just missed it.

Reminds me of an interview that a music pundit was having with Eric Clapton. She asked Clapton what it feels like to be the best guitarist in the world. His reply—“I don’t know. You need to go ask Prince????

Same really…if you were a 90s kid you mostly knew him for being mocked for the “artist formerly known as…” stuff
He was definitely odd but still a bad arse musical talent

As big as Prince was in music history, the reason he wasn't even bigger was due to his persona. That's the main reason there is so much ignorance to his greatness. Make no mistake though, EVERYONE in the music business pretty much regardless of genre knows how much of a badass he was, and would by a majority name him the most talented MUSICIAN ever.
That's also what made him so unique. He constantly changed his look almost yearly up until the last few years of his life. He also changed his sound regularly.
He could have easily put out a Purple Rain 2.0 in 1985 and racked up a few more #1s. But instead he came out with a middle eastern style album that got rid of the bandwagon fans, and left him with his core group that he still stays relevant with today.

Prince has always been awesome. Soundtrack to my growing up years. Anyone with a unique style like he had gets my respect. I didn’t really appreciate his guitar prowess until later in life.

Prince wasn’t a top 500 guitar player much less the best.
