apparently not on a radio, so need some help/advice

my tastes:
classic rock (late 60s-late 70s)
think Jimi, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Band

early 90s grunge/alternative
Nirvana, anything Chris Cornell touched, etc.

blues & blues based rock
Clapton, SRV

any suggestions?

Is there such a thing as good new rock music? Rock music isn't all that complex. Everything "new" I hear I feel like I've heard before.

Go check out the lineups for rock music festivals and look at some of the names you've never heard of that appear on many of the lists then listen to those bands and choose ones you like.

That's what I've done for years and it's opened me up to plenty of great new music.

1. Play a song you like on Spotify.
2. Allow Spotify to continue playing.
3. Profit?

The Raconteurs is a good suggestion, as well as Jack White.

Go to Spotify and they'll have a playlist of new music based on what you listen to.

Same I’ve spent too many hours going through all these “Great new bands” and they all sound the same stale and they play with no soul.

I can't recommend Rival Sons and Crobot enough. They are both excellent newer rock bands.

what is new? Is new 2018? Or is new anything that you haven't heard?

I personally look a few spots for new music. First is from people I trust (including a few posters here). This is the best source for me.

Next I look at pitchfork. Pitchfork bats about 30% for me, which is better than anything else. Next I google best albums of the year at the end of the year, and look at various lists - Rolling Stone, stereogum, metacritic. This bats about 10%, usually cause the above two sources normally gave me anything I would find on this list.
