Damn I trusted you. That is the most tone deaf, offbeat singing I've ever heard make it to an album

Take all the Beatles’ albums and Dark Side of The Moon and arrange them in a list best to worst. Where is DSOTM on the list?

DSOTM is better than any album the Beatles made IMHO.

I know some will disagree but the Beatles put out so much bubble gum pop shite music you have to sort through their catalogue to find good songs. They definitely have some fantastic music but it's vastly outweighed by garbage.

Dark side is an absolute classic. But imo physical graffiti is the goat album. It’s just nonstop song after song masterpiece.

Dark Side of The Moon is its own genre. One of a kind masterpiece.

But...

How can one choose between, say, DSOTM, A Hard Days Night, the Boston debut album, Fleetwood Mac's Rumors, and...Mantovani?

Doesn't mood play into "Ranking"?

It's cliche, but isn't this more Apples vs Oranges vs Bananas vs Pineapples?

So underrated.

The title tune has what must surely be a Top 5 all-Time recognizable opening riff.

Good and worth a mention...

But IMO Side 2 runs out of steam.

a) The Beatles catalogue from 1962-1965 lyrics + music merely reflected a much different time. And NOBODY touched them. (and nobody cared about "edgy" back then.)

b) I know people will also disagree with this -- but a lot of The Beatles post-1965 drug-influenced music was crap and bloated pretentious garbage. Post 1966, their "artistry" became equaled AND/OR surpassed (IMO, The Stones' best tracks surpassed the Beatles best from 1966-1968)

c) "Bubble Gum" was it's own brilliant (far too short) genre. As was its concurrent contemporary, the "Sunshine Pop" genre / era.

Dark side of the moon stayed on the charts for 940 consecutive weeks. Over doubling any other album in music history.

Along with that, it has sold 45 million copies total which is also over double any of the albums you listed other than SGt Pepper which sold 32

Dark Side of the Moon is better than any Beatles album and honestly, its not even close.

quote:

Sgt Pepper's lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) – 32 million copies sold.
Abbey Road (1969) – 19.9 million copies sold.
The White Album (1968) – 14 million copies sold.
Rubber Soul (1966) – 8.6 million copies sold.
Revolver (1966) – 7.2 million copies sold.

quote:

45 million copies
“The Dark Side of the Moon” spent an astonishing 14 years on the “Billboard” album charts, and sold an estimated 45 million copies.
