Yea, I have their entire catalog. Along with the majority of the original recordings.

Tbh. I like them, or a lot of their stuff. But they did rip a lot of people off. It wasn't until they were sued and forced to give the original artist's credit, that they took responsibility.

The Rolling Stones - mediocre British blues band

I think Paul McCartney said it best “I’m not sure I should say it, but they’re a blues cover band, that’s sort of what the Stones are,”

Certainly true (along with jazz) in their early years.

lol You do jam bands, but just eliminated the core of 'em and anyone left sounds very close to them. Not trying to hate, but I mean what's left after Billy Strings. String Cheese? Guessing you've got a real particular palate.

Led Zeppelin I like Jimmy's playing, but the fact that they were such big rip offs tarnished it all for me.

I just laugh at people with this opinion of Zeppelin. Every musician borrows. But when Led Zeppelin hit the scene it was original and groundbreaking.

The Beatles and the Eagles.

Can't deny the Beatles are one of the greats.

Even though they have some good tracks, the Eagles always seemed like a bunch of prima donnas. Also seems like they kind of robbed a little bit of style from whatever was popular to stay alive and never formed a unique sound. Joe Walsh saved Don and Glenn but they'd never admit that.

Queens of the Stone Age
All of Jack White's bands
Billy Strings - I can't do bluegrass - it all sounds the same to me and his vocals are pretty rough

I think what rubs me about them is a) Rick’s voice - it’s too pop sounding for me. Objectively he’s a good singer, but it’s kind of boy-bandish, b) they’re whole premise down to the name is a gayer version of Phish.

I either like them or I don’t like them. If I don’t like them I don’t want to like them.

right now I’m all in on billy strings…I get everything I want and more. Otherwise I go see JRAD, tedeschi trucks, greensky bluegrass, Sierra Farrell, Sierra Hull, yonder mountain, railroad earth, leftover salmon, circles around the sun, etc etc

it’s about the music…if it moves me and i can dig it, then I’m in. Like I said the scenes around those other bands should be my thing but I can’t dig the music. I need more than just noodle dancing and a good buzz

Didn't know paul described them this way but it's true. Allman bros covered a lot of blues song but they never sounded like a cover band.

Then you get to the 1980's Stones which were an embarrassment even by the weird arse 80's standard. World's greatest rock n roll band my arse.

They put out 5 albums in the 80s. Emotional Rescue, Tattoo You, Undercover, Dirty Work and Steel Wheels.

Tattoo You was fantastic. Steel Wheels was really good, as was Emotional Rescue. Undercover was ok, but Dirty Work was awful.

That's not too terrible or embarrassing.
