Chris Adler is fascinating to me. A pretty simple setup, but he’s so quick and groovy. He just abuses those toms in the best of ways, and I don’t know anybody who utilizes splashes better.

They are Memphis on 6/11 then down near Miami on 6/15. Possible ATL stop in between? Other option would be they have Orlando on 6/20 then Huntsville on 6/23.

Based on what they alreayd have booked those look like the only 2 gaps where ATL would make travel sense.

well I was right in that another stop in GA would fall between those dates as I just checked and they added a stop on June 22nd....in fricking MACON!!! wtf brit floyd?

No doubt. I am especially in to pre-Sgt. Pepper. The early albums where the recording is simply a very damn good band doing their thing are the best. Twist and Shout, Long Tall Sally are 2 that were recorded live, no edits and no dubbing. And in 1 take.

My musical obsession always has, and always will be, that 'feeling' you get in your head and gut the first time you hear a particularly beautiful/moving song...few other feelings can match it.

I've found this is especially satisfying when you discover something decades old that you'd never heard before...just a song that seems so perfect that you wonder how in the hell you'd missed it for all those years. This is what keeps me always exploring new (to me) music.

The most recent song that hit me like this is The Kinks "This Time Tomorrow".

So many...

Beatles (including John, Paul and now George seperately)

The Raspberries (1st Gen children of the British Invasion)

The Sweet (Power Pop giants and forerunners of Hair Band metal)

Blondie (not just HOT Debbie, but the band. Great songs)

Marty Robbins (man could sing anything)

The Stray Cats / Rockabilly / Psychobilly (something about jangly guitars and hot chicks)

Lynyrd Skynyrd (Steve Gaines was going to take them to another level)

1959 Winter Dance Party (how big would Valens and especially Buddy have been?)

Jerry Lee Lewis (His covers redefined the originals. And he threw it all away - twice)

Dwight Yoakam (the son of the Bakersfield Sound of Buck Owens)

Dolly Parton (her image undermines her immense talent and voice)

Junior Brown (the almagam of rockabilly, old country and surf guitar. Never boring)

Jamie Johnson (another JLL who can make any song his own.

Good question. Can't really name just one. A bunch of bands have held my interest for a long time.

I'm much the sane way, except that no one has caught my fancy for a long time.

Popular music pretty much went to hell a couple of decades ago. I'm sure that I've enjoyed some artists more recently, but no one leaps to mind that got me really hooked.

Thanks. I haven't been to the fox in YEARS...if I sit up high or in the back is it a bad seat? I know it's obviously not like Phillips or anythign so there's prbably not a BAD seat, but I mean am I missing out by not sitting lower level down front.

We always sit in the upper level as far down as possible...I think we are on row B in the middle section. I have 8 seats total..... I have sit on the floor and its not as good to me.... Cant see the light show as well. That upper level at the fox has a lot of over hang...

Same here. Rush is close IMO, those two are my favorites. No matter how I might drift away, I always come back.

awesome man thanks for the heads up. In the summer I typically work an event Wednesday evenings so if I can get tix it won't be until much closer to show date unfortuantely. Really hoping I can though after hearing your recommendation of them.

On a side note, buddy of mine saw interstellar echos in ATL about 2 weeks ago and I remember you saying they were good as well. He loved them and said most of it was spot on, so if you think BF is better that gets me even more excited.

Classical music, specifically piano.

I enjoy all kinds of music: rock, metal, new age, EDM, rap, hip hop, country, etc.

But nothing speaks to the soul like Chopin.

I go see Interstellar every time they are close. Will be at buford June 1. Great cover band but Brit Floy is simply the absolutely best cover/tribute band in the world. Plus this years setlist has Pigs and Darlington playing that solo may be the best I ever heard.

Turnt it up.

There is just no music the I can
Play everyday and not get tired of other than the Floyd. I have been going to every tribute band within reason for many years. The live music is my favorite.

Nothing compares to me. I get on kicks when I work where I will play 8 albums back to back over a day.

I just went ahead and bought tix, I figure I'd rather have them and try to get off work than wait too late and not have them. Got the front row of dress right so they look like pretty good seats in that there's nobody standing in frotn of us.
