I haven't heard of them, thanks for the heads up I'll check them out! As far as tributes go I saw Australian floyd at the fox a few years back and enjoyed it. I wanted to catch Brit floyd last time they were here but wasn't able to make it.

Ive seen both of those and Brit floyd is about 50 times better than Ausie. I enjoyed Aussie but Damian Darlington created Brit Floyd to improve on ever aspect of what Aussue was doing and he did that. The stage show, the sound and the musicians.

Brit Floyd will be back at the Fox in June. They typically play on a Thursday night unfortunately but I have a group of people that all go every year together. Usually set up in Midtown for some drinks before. If you are interested, you should join us. Ive seen them a bunch of times. I always see them at the Fox and sometimes even drive over to Birmingham and Chattanooga to see them when they play. Last year we did the bucket list and flew to Colorado and did Red Rocks. Best venue I have ever been to..

Interstellar Echoes is a great see. Usually pretty cheap and put on a great show but Brit Floyd in my opinion is the holy grail of tribute bands. Best in the world

Anything and everything Clapton related, he is why I picked up the guitar over a decade ago, my favorite guitarist who over a 60+ year career has changed his sound over and over again but stayed successful and true to his roots.

My favorite phase= Derek and the Dominos and the Layla Album, which was basically guitar canon to me growing up, basically taught myself how to play off of this album.

The 1970's and beyond are filled with highs and lows of his career, both personally and musically, but still plenty of gold in there.

re: What is your musical obsession?
Clapton was my first REAL concert ever in NOLA when I was 14 with my dad. He had just released 'Me and Mr. Johnson' and he and another guitarist at one point sat down and played that whole album acoustic. I think I became a man that night

That's fantastic, what a great experience with your dad.

No matter your age, mood or taste, chances are Clapton has something that you'll like.

re: What is your musical obsession?
Starting out back in 1996 or 1997 when I started playing the guitar at age 11 or 12, I learned as much music of the Eagles and Oasis as I could. When I got to college I was introduced to Widespread Panic, which I learned ( and still learn) every song. Then came the Grateful Dead learning both Jerry and Bobby's parts. In the past two years, Dickie Betts of the Allman Brothers Band has been my musical obsession. 1990-1996 are my favorite years of his to study.

Dude I have DB in my top 5-7 favorite guitarists ever, and he's certainly one of the most underrated ever.

ABB Live at U of Florida 1982

This whole show is worth a watch, maybe the best I've ever seen DB playing. Every song, every solo of his is pure horsepower.

Thanks for the info, I'll now make it a point to check out Brit Floyd, I didn't realize they were so much more highly thought of than aussie. I checked out their site adn didn't see any Atlanta dates, just one in Savannah..will they add more on for the summer? I'd love to check em out at the fox.
