I liked them a lot until Joe Walsh joined the band.

...and then when they compounded that stupidity and fired Felder, they were done.

...as evidenced with their "Long Road Out of Eden" album.

Liked, then went ambivalent, then hated, now back to ambivalent.
It once had a unique feel, the same as with a lot of overplayed music that went on to became overdone and stale. Probably will be better in about 10 years of not hearing it anymore.

I don't really know where they fall with me. They have some songs I really like, but they have other songs that I really dislike. Hit or miss.

I never really cared for the Eagles but I wish I could to spite the hipsters and this movie.

I wouldn't go that far, but that is an incredible song!

Mostly indifferent on them. I like a few songs on Hotel California(though not the title track), but most of their other stuff is pretty boring.

They’re pretty good if you like bland country-tinged pop rock and pretentious lyrics.

Never really liked them, especially the Hendley songs. I Can't Tell You Why is one of my top 5 songs from the 70's though. I guess since it was sung by Timothy Schmit it was so much different than most of their other stuff.

I like them alright. Some of their stuff is a little corny to me.

I do think that Hotel California is one of the most perfect songs ever recorded. It's not my favorite song, but damn if every single element isn't in exactly the right place.

I was a kid in the Seventies so it's probably nostalgia. I could see how older people who came of age in the Sixties probably turned their noses up at them though. Just some great laid back music reminiscent of that era for me. Much of people's love for music is due to context, age at the time of the music.

So true. When I think of the Eagles I don’t think first of musicianship but rather of the good times & company I had while it was playing in the background.

Having said that, my favorite Eagles song is “Try and Love Again” off Hotel California.

Their early stuff was OK, but when Joe Walsh joined them for Hotel California, it made them a much better band in my opinion. Hotel California and The Long Run were great albums, as well as their live album released during that time.

After the breakup in 1980, their albums since haven't done a whole lot for me.

Still, a good solid band. One of the best bands at having great harmonizing vocals. shite, everyone in the band had a great singing presence !

Seven Bridges Road is an all time great. I guess it is all relative. When you compare them to the shite being put out today, they are Mozart, Beethoven and Bach all rolled into one.

Already Gone is one of the best rock songs to come out of the 70’s...
