What is the Music Board's opinion of The Eagles?

Never heard of them.

I’m lukewarm on them. They made some good generic rock and a few standout tracks. I liked them a lot in high school but I got bored.

I like them a lot, not love. Very talented musicians and writers. And had Joe Walsh who is awesome:

The fricking Eagles, man.

Have always like the Eagles. I was a kid in the Seventies so it's probably nostalgia. I could see how older people who came of age in the Sixties probably turned their noses up at them though. Just some great laid back music reminiscent of that era for me. Much of people's love for music is due to context, age at the time of the music.

I can’t tell you why but in the long run, life in the fast lane relegated them to the Hotel California because the Greeks don’t want no freaks.

Eagles were respected back in their day

People who enjoy The Eagles have probably never listened to The Kinks.

I have every album of theirs from the seventies so I like them but there does seem to be a sect that vastly overrates them. They aren't in the same league as the Stones or Zeppelin. They're solid but they are not stranded on a desert island music. To me they have two stand out albums--Desperado and On the Border. After that there is a decent size drop off to Hotel California, The Long Run, and the rest of their stuff.

I’m not going to sit here and shite on the Eagles because the Big Lebowski told me to. I used to like them when I was younger, but as I’ve gotten older and expanded what I listen to, I find them incredibly bland and underwhelming. That is my true two cents.
