What is the first song you downloaded illegally off the internet?

Mine was Voodoo by Godsmack (lol). Downloaded off Napster (lol) in 2000.

Don't laugh, it's a good song.
I genuinely have no idea which was the first. Behind the Front by Black Eyed Peas was definitely an early one.

I think mine was Sweet child o’ mine.
But I can remember with absolute certainty the first porn I downloaded from there and it was a Pamela Anderson nude .

I don't recall specifically. I do remember it was later than everyone else, as my original PC was so slow. I finally upgraded to one that was only five years out of date.
I remember using a P2P & DLing everything under the sun. Every day was like Christmas! P2P got me into Gram Parsons when I DLed The Byrds' "You Don't Miss Your Water" w/GP vocals by mistake when I was trying to get the McGuinn album version.
Another beautiful mistake was when I DLed a file misIDed as Wilco -- it turned out to be a track/band I'd never heard of, "The Streets Of Where I'm From" by The Old 97s. P2P let me discover all these '90s alt.country ("The only genre with more bands than fans") acts only 5 or 6 years late.
I remember my first internet "music": c. 1991-2 a friend and I went over to the house of a guy who had Prodigy. I looked up The Flamin' Groovies through their sales service. I was so amazed -- if I wanted to order The Groovies I could do it easy as pie!

Not 100% sure, but I want to say I downloaded an entire album over a weekend, not just a song. I want to say it was No Code by Pearl Jam. I know it was one of my earliest Napster downloads.

I don't remember what song but I do remember it was Napster and with a 56K connection i think it took about 5 minutes. Good times, good times.

Phish's cover of Gin and Juice

Can't remember the song but the site was called Scour Exchange. It seems like they were around, even before Napster was a thing.

That was actually the Gourds. Someone mislabeled it as Phish.

Something off Napster, late 90's. Think it was a copy of The Wall.

I downloaded a ton. That’s why I own 1000 cds. I was burning cds on the reg.
To answer the question, I honestly have no idea what was first. I lost about three PC’s due to viruses from doing it, though.

I've always preferred to own my music whether it was on cassette or cd. I buy some things on iTunes, mostly stuff I can't find on cd or if it only got a digital release. I have some bootleg concerts burned on cd.
