I’ve never really like Widespread Panic all that much, nor jam bands in general, but Til the Medicine Takes (1999) is one of my all time favorites.

I know a lot of Panic fans think it’s probably their 4th or 5th best because the songs aren’t as great extended/live as other ones, but in terms of Studio albums, it’s by far their best IMO.

I’ve just always felt it was underappreciated because people don’t listen to Panic unless they are a fan and the fans don’t really listen to studio albums anyway.

Even if you hate jam bands it’s a great album.

"Definitely Maybe" by Oasis... got completely overshadowed by "What's The Story? (Morning Glory)" but some fantastic tunes.

Til the Medicine Takes is their most quality studio work. Ain’t Life Grand is second.

Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) by Brian Eno, easily one of the best, more creative albums of the 70s, but I rarely hear it brought up.

Waiting For Columbus - Little Feat is under appreciated. It is a masterpiece and arguably the best live album ever.

Interesting! First album that came to mind when I read thread title. I wholeheartedly agree. Unless you listened to "album rock" in the day you'd never have known who Little Feat was.

Screaming Trees "Sweet Oblivion" and "Dust" are both criminally underappreciated. As is Soundgarden's "Down on the Upside".

Montrose by Montrose 1973 -
One of the best hard rock albums of all time.

Anything by Johnny Winter. Most underrated guitarist and maybe the best slide player ever. Just a song but if you're not familiar with him here's a start.

Never really come across anyone who likes this album, but it’s a killer rock & roll album:

Coming off their heaviest (and IMO) their greatest album (Sabotage), this was a disappointment, but there are overlooked gems on this record.

One of the worst bands of the 90s... right up there with Candlebox.

Overshadowed by the one massively overplayed track (which is still one of the great earworms of all time), the rest of this brilliant debut LP is an almost perfect slice of early 80s UK politically-tinged power pop.
