I legitimately think childers music is just slow, sad, trash that I needn't listen to cause hearing how she left him for the 43rd time ain't worth it

Could you please name three songs about “how she left him”?

Please let us know what amazing artists you enjoy so that we can listen to music that doesn’t suck.

I legitimately think he’s just not that good and people pump his sunshine because the alternative-bro country-is even worse.
In a choice between the lesser or two evils, I choose neither.

He just puts Tom Petty’s entire discography on repeat. He doesn’t really expand his musical taste much.

So on one side we’ve got Willie Nelson, John Prine, Jason Isbell, and most of the music board, all of whom say Childers is a ridiculous talent who is the future of outlaw country.
And on the other we’ve got DownSouthJukin, who actually thinks he sounds like Evan Felker.

Show me where each of these people said this.

Give me a dart board with a song list. Any I hit would fit the bill because of his voice and music style

Tom Petty’s
Range is far better than that of childers. He has rock albums, a blues album, has done country and much more.
You want sad slow tear jerkers like childers does except done right?
-i forgive it all
-something good
-southern accents
-square one
-insider
You want harder edged rock songs?
-refugee
-rebels
-jammin me
-you wreck me
More acoustic less electric
-the apartment song
-keeping me alive
-turning point
Country
-the image of me (a cover of Conway)
-shady grove
-orphan of the storm
Even used synths at one point and got a hit out of it. There really is almost a little bit of everything in his discography. Had he lived longer he may have done a rap album.
Wake me up when childers is anywhere close to the musical value of Petty's corpse and maybe I'll "expand my musical taste" to include a lesser musician

He writes his songs and sings them, too!!!
Damn the Torpedos puts anything to shame that Tayson Chillingham has done or could ever do.

TT isn't pop country, but I think I understand what you're getting at. They're polished, almost every song has strong hooks and is very catchy, etc.
In a reasonable world, they'd be a hugely popular band and would thus become "pop-country" in a way.
But they have none of the cliche, manufactured, etc. features of pop-country acts.

This thread is a fricking dumpster fire.
ITT: Tyler Childers, Ryan Bingham, Turnpike all suck.
The only way it could get any worse is if someone started talking about how awful Reckless Kelly is. Or how good flatland cavalry is.

Ryan Bingham doesn’t suck. Reckless Kelly doesn’t suck.
I’ve never heard of Flatland Calvary.
