As I addressed before, that makes no sense whatsoever. Pop Country artists do that.
There is quite literally no reason to suggest that Tyler Childers is not backwoods country
From his Wikipedia page:
Tyler Childers was born and raised in Lawrence County, Kentucky.[1] His father worked in the coal industry and his mother is a nurse.[2] He learned singing in church where he sang in the church choir.[3] He started to play guitar and write songs when he was around 13.[4] He attended Paintsville High School in nearby Paintsville, Kentucky, and graduated in 2009.[5] Fellow country musicians Chris Stapleton (Staffordsville) and Loretta Lynn (Van Lear) also hail from areas around Paintsville.
Paintsville, KY isn’t exactly a bustling metropolis.

That doesn’t say his father was a coal miner.
And this is far from some sort of hard scrabble roots.

From an interview:
quote:
With industry closures and high unemployment, the Kentucky that Childers comes from is one of the southern blue-collar regions that seemed to pin its hopes on Donald Trump. After two years of Republican leadership I wondered whether anything had changed?
Childers answers with a succinct “No.”
Then he expands. “Coal put food on my table growing up. My dad was a coal miner most of his life and most of my life until the bottom fell out and you couldn’t find a job. But just because my Dad can’t find work in a field that is all he’s ever known, that can’t keep me blinded to the idea that the only thing that’s going to bring coal back is 27 million years of not touching it.

It’s also said his father worked in a coal plant, which is a processing facility, not a hole in the ground.
And coal mining today isn’t what it was 100 years ago. It’s a pretty modern and mechanized business-though still a tough business.
That doesn’t mean I don’t respect his father or his business. It’s just that I think his son’s hard scrabble Appalachia roots are being blown up a bit.

By the way, did you see Sturgill is releasing his entire back catalogue bluegrass style soon? Two albums coming in the next couple months.

I hadn't heard that. I'll be interested to see what he does with Metamodern.

I’m sure he planned this all out a decade ago when he was 19 and didn’t have a record deal and he was playing at friends houses.
Proof DownSouthJukin is a clown

What is him playing guitar on someone's couch supposed to prove in the way of your position?
It seems to me that his current look-mustached, slick hair, vintage suits, etc.-does appear to be of recent manufacture to promote the throw-back identity his handlers are seeking to promote.

Lol, wait what?

You simply can’t admit you were wrong. That clip is 9 years old, from before he had a record deal. You claimed he sings the way he does because his “handlers tell him to”. That clip clearly shows he hasn’t changed his voice at all.
Lmaooooooooooooooo the only time Tyler Childers has ever worn a suit is at the Grammys, which seems like a proper time to do so.
Go ahead and google “Tyler Childers”. How many pictures are there of him in a suit? How many of him with slick-backed hair? Get back to me

It’s almost like he fixes his hair for photoshoots and interviews.
Incredibly strange.

so in your opinion, when he dressed up like colonel sanders, was that done by his "handlers"?
tyler childers is as authentic as they come. you're either a troll or just a fool. not sure what you have against him, but when john prine (RIP) and willie nelson are huge fans of his, i'll take their opinion over yours
