well the fact that they don't write pop country lyrics or play pop country music (or played) I couldn't ever see them as "pop country"

I should have clarified. They sound pop-country. Felker’s voice sounds very smooth. It’s just the voice, not the songs themselves.

Turnpike doesn't use snap tracks, bass tracks, auto-tune, and no bullshite speaking/rapping lyrics. No way are they close to pop country.
