Back story: Here in the Bay area, Martha Quinn hosts an 80's channel which is awesome.
This song has been played several time recently, and its new to me.
Awesome song.

Great band. Blue Monday is also a solid track. New Order formed after the suicide of Ian Curtis, lead singer of Joy Division. Another great band, but a darker sound.

I’m partial to Love Vigilantes myself

My 13 year old has really gotten into New Order and a lot of new wave type bands. Most of his music exposure comes from the bmx/Mtb scene and the music people are using on their edits, so I think new wave must be experiencing a resurgence in popularity. It’s kind of awesome because it’s so nostalgic for me.

Such a great band. Their entire 80s catalog is superb. One great song after another. Technique is an underrated album and one of my favorites.

If you like new order, you should take the dive into Joy Division as well. New Order formed from the remaining members of Joy Division after Ian Curtis took his life.
Both bands are outstanding examples of the synth-pop scene in the late70's - early 80's.
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart.

New Order are a great band that, unlike a lot of there "New Wave" contemporaries, puts on one hell of a live show. One of the best guitar riffs that I never get tired of is Age of Consent.

That's great to hear. New Wave seems to have so many bands/songs that never really get old. As a teen in the 80s, I feel like I took a lot of this music for granted but most of it has held up really well.
Tears For Fears is one band from that era that I'd love to see getting some attention, aside from all of those Mad World covers.

Regret is my jam. One of my favorite bands.

Saw them opening up for Hall & Oates a few years ago. They sounded amazing. Loved them growing up.
As far as True Faith that's my number one favorite song by New Order. It's the first song I had heard by them growing up. The video for the song is pretty interesting too.
First Wave is my number one go to channel on Sirius XM. That music never gets old.

The director also did Fine Young Cannibals She Drives Me crazy.
Greatest New Order song was just a single release. This video was just shot maybe 15 years ago. Teh video is to the 1987 re-recording added to the Substance collection. The song also shows up on Trainspotting soundtrack but the song is never played. The actress just sings a few verses during MacGregor withdrawal scene.

"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is the quintessential 80s song, in my view. The sound, the subject matter, the beat... I love that tune like crazy.

No doubt. It's definitely one of those songs/videos that takes you right back to the mid 80s when Mtv was at it's peak.
Until Vice City came out, I'd never heard Pale Shelter but it's probably my favorite song by them. So many good ones, though.

FYI, Peter Hook is doing a tour next year where he's playing the first 2 Joy Division albums in full, and the opening set will be New Order songs

Sounds great. Joy Division was one of my favorite bands. It's pretty amazing how they were able to transform into New Order after losing Ian Curtis.

Dream Attack off of Technique is my favorite New Order song and I’d put it up against any of their amazing older stuff. It encapsulates in one song so much of what makes New Order great.
