No particular order

Tier 1
Allman Brothers Band
Charlie Daniels Band
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Marshall Tucker Band
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Little Feat
ZZ Top
Wet Willie

Tier 2
38 Special
Outlaws
Molly Hatchet
Atlanta Rhythm Section
Black Oak Arkansas
Ozark Mountain Daredevils
Georgia Satellites
Blackfoot
Elvin Bishop

I also love Barefoot Jerry and Dixie Dregs, but consider what they were doing to be something other than Southern Rock. Southern prog/ jazz fusion.

I didn’t include later waves and bands.

For me

1. Allman Brothers
2. Lynyrd Skynyrd
3. ZZ Top
4. Blackfoot
5. The Outlaws

Marshall Tucker, 38 Special and Molly Hatchet would definitely get honorable mentions

For me personally, Molly Hatchet is tops with Skynard a close second. I was a freshman in high school when they released Dreams I’ll Never See. My favorite southern rock song ever. Impressionable time in my life. I love a couple of the instrumental versions too.

So you’re calling them the best Southern Rock band oat based on their cover of a song the Allman Brothers wrote and released a decade earlier?

I actually like your list in that order

Dude you realize that's just a cover of an Allman Brothers song, right?
