Lot of good bands mentioned in here (shout out to whoever said 12 Stones). I’d like to add As Cities Burn to the list.

Chase Tyler Band

Honestly some of the worst music to ever come out of Baton Rouge other than parish county line.

Disagree, one could do much worse. I don’t care much for the genre Chase Tyler performs, but he does it well and the band is very tight as a unit with excellent sound and production value. There’s a lot of crappy bands out there that are playing crappy music and not even playing it well.

From an outsider musicians perspective I feel like it starts with the Meters for Louisiana. Y'all may feel different. Them and Dr John are who I always think of when I think of Louisiana greats. Down and Better than Ezra I probably listen to a shite ton more of. But I fricking love the Meters man. GD they were fricking funky. I guess toss the Neville Brothers and Cowboy Mouth in there.

Wow, Luke Starkiller... I had a class with 3 members of this band while at UNO, I moved on to LSU but they played at The Caterie before it burned down and I let them have the after party at my boys apartment. I also saw them at the Howlin’ Wolf downtown N.O.

Pretty sure Galactic should be on a list here...
