Anyone seen the show?

i just dropped a fortune on two tickets. Everything you read and hear in the press says it is phenomenal.

I think he does a lot of stopping and spoken word stuff. Which I hate.

Many here hate Springsteen. Prepare for downvotes.

Doesn’t he only play 15 songs?

Either you like Springsteen or you don't. If you do, then seems like a can't miss. Personally, I'd rather have a 24 hour stomach bug.

Fabulous. Nothing but hits like Oh, What A Beautiful Morning, Memory, and Send in the Clowns. He even pulls off a surprise from Hamilton during the encore.

He reads exercpts from his book and plays solo songs on piano or guitar when he gets to a part where the story has influenced his song meaning.

It's a great show if you can get there and you will be entertained IMO even if you are not into Springsteen, his story is an interesting one and like him or not the guy is super talented and one of the best songwriters of his generation

There are definite emotional moments

Finally saw this last weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. I could not recommend it enough. The show was more of a one man play than I imagined. My expectation was closer to a solo acoustic set but he only plays about 10-15 songs over the 2+ hours. Patti was sick on the night we went so he changed it up a little but we got an encore.

It is coming to Netflix in December once the run is over.

I will never understand the entire Springsteen phenomenon. It baffles me.

Excellent songwriting, hell of a frontman/rock star/performer, and an underrated guitar player. What is there not to get?

There was an element of cheesiness in the 80s I will admit but they are still some great tunes.

Im not huge bruce fan or anything, but the hate he receives on this board is baffling. He is a great songwriter.

The fact that he evens straps a guitar to himself is a joke. It would be funnier if it was plugged in.

I am an unabashed huge Springsteen fan. I understand folks not liking one performer or another, but there's something there whether you like him or not. I've seen every big act out there over the years and no one puts more into a show than the Boss. My 18 y/o jazz/electronica/hip-hop musician saw him with me and thought it was epic. He couldn't believe a 65 y/o man could do such a performance at Jazz Fest, in the heat, dressed in black.

As far as his guitar playing, he's not in a band that features skilled leads. However, I saw him do a 3-hour solo acoustic performance some years back and his guitar playing was spot-on.

And for those of us who like the guy his "spoken word" parts of his regular concerts are a real highlight. He doesn't preach politics (as every non-fan, conservative person who's never seen him thinks he does), but just has a unique way of weaving stories and lessons into the song he's about to sing.

So, as they say, haters gonna hate, but the Boss is the Boss for a reason. He was not fabricated and marketed like so many acts since he came up.

He was on the cover of Time and Newsweek in the same week.

In the 70s.

Yes he was-after three albums and years of touring with as much word-of-mouth of his concert prowess as any act to date, and after Born To Run exploded. Was his record company pushing him at this point? Surely, as the magazine covers suggest. But only after he became to big to ignore.

And record company support doesn't last or keep you relevant 40 years later.

Sounds dreadful to me. But I definitely see how some would like it.

And dreadful not because it’s Springsteen. Just that setup is not for me.

I like Springsteen, although not a huge fan. I don't get the hate either.

Dude's had 19 top ten albums over 4 decades, puts on one of the best live shows for his whole career, has had #1 solo acoustic albums and ones with a whole band backing him and is a pretty great songwriter.

If he isn't your cup of tea, cool, but that's an impressive career that few rock musicians can match.
