I come to this board to expand my musical knowledge. I’ll confess, I’m not a huge Pumpkins fan other than the mainstream stuff. I gave this song a listen because I’ve never heard it. Wow, just wow! How did I never hear this song before?
I love hearing that. I think if you took a poll of self described Smashing Pumpkins die hard fans, Mayonaise would be the consensus pick for the THE quintessential SP song. It truly embodies what made them what they were.

It would be my pick.

Absolute Masterpiece that has/will stand the test of time.
It was released before I was born, but it has definitely aged very well.

Will always remember when that album just came out we camped out one night while ingesting pharmaceuticals and listed to it back to back to back until the sun came up. So much happened that night that will never be forgotten and one of the best nights of my youth.

I have a few of those. Unfortunately, most things that happened can’t be remembered.

Cherub Rock is such a kick in the face to start that album.
I can credit this song for my first speeding ticket.

Saw them in Biloxi on shrooms.
Listen to this start to finish when I'm driving far solo or at night with earbuds.
Kids think it sucks sigh

Anyway, Siamese Dream is one of my favorite albums to this day.

Me too. Ive seen hundreds of concerts and this show still ranks as one of the best ive ever seen. The energy in the air with Cobains death was insane.

That was it!!! Thanks for posting, when the lights were goin bonkers during climax of Today, I left my earthly body and ascended for a while.
Cobain sure did kill himself that night, one guy in our group alternately cried and laughed....it was the drugs.

Disarm is probably Billy's best song. As much as I like the hits from MCATIS, between Disarm, Today, Cherub Rock, Mayonaise, Rocket, Soma and even some of the album cuts, SD probably does win the day for my favorite Pumpkins album.

I saw them in Biloxi too in a similar state of mind. The show was the the day that Kurt Cobain was found was dead. I remember we heard the news in the radio while making the drive from SLU in Hammond to Biloxi. I just couldn’t understand how a rock star would want to commit suicide.
The show had a weird vibe to it and I remember Corgan saying that we all lost a friend that day.
