Still bummed I never got to see them live though. Huge fan of the Amphetamine Reptile Records label and a lot of those bands. Tom Hazelmeyer just opened a record store/rarities shop outside of Minneapolis. I'm going to make a pilgrimage up there to check it out sometime soon. He has some rare Cows stuff for sale there, among a ton of other rad stuff.

Leftover Crack at Siberia in NOLA several years ago... New Years Eve... Stza was on acid and fricking up left and right. Still was a fun show tho. haha
Patterson Hood of Drive By Truckers was wasted when I saw them play at Hal and Mal's in Jackson, Mississippi either on their tour for The Dirty South or A Blessing and A Curse LP. Can't remember which one. But Isbell was still in the band.
The absolute drunkest I have ever seen a band and crowd, was when I saw FEAR play one of their first reunion shows in the late 90s/2000ish after not playing for many years in Southern California, at Club Mesa in Costa Mesa. Tiny venue and one of my favorites. Saw so many great bands there. The guys in the band could barely stand... The crowd were so shitfaced they were falling down in the pit everywhere and beers were flying the whole time. Amazingly, not one fight. It was awesome. So fun.

I loved Amphetamine Records as well, Helios Creed being one of my favs on that label, especially the album Boxing the Clown.

I saw The Cult open for Metallica on the Justice for all tour. Ian from The Cult, was so drunk, at one point he fell down and just rolled around on stage and just mumbled into the mic.

America, at Red Rocks around 1980. Mediocre concert at best and got worse as time went on. They tried to do "Horse with no Name" for the encore but were so wasted by that point that they couldn't remember the words. They stopped after stumbling their way through a minute or so and then just walked off.

I've always found this interesting. I've never really experienced it but have heard some crazy horror stories

Saw Hank Jr on his birthday back in the early 80's. Bocephus walked out on stage with an unopened handle of Jim Beam and proceeded to drink the whole thing during to show. He sang Kowliga 3 times that night. They had to bring him a chair to sit in to finish the concert. I liked Hank Jr but that was too much Hank.

Shane didn’t make three songs and they had to shuffle him back stage. I could see him in the back chugging Bud Light while the band attempted to save the show. He attempted to come back out and it was a disaster.
On one hand seeing Shane MacGowan piss drunk is the only way to experience the Pogues. On the other hand it was kind of sad seeing a middle aged man in the depths alcoholism

Ryan Adams about 20 years ago. He was very prickly. Kind of disappointing.

Was at Hank concert in Beaumont, TX 1990 ish.
He thought he was in Baton Rouge and mentioned the LSU Tigers.

Maybe not drunk, but Aaron Lewis of Staind was definitely high the two times I’ve seen him. Cypress Hill is pretty obvious.

The Pantera show in Houston 96 where Phil died, then returned from a heroin od. Dude was a hot mess that night.
Marilyn Manson at an Aftershock festival in 19 was so drunk he pulled his pants down. Stagehands had to stop him from pulling his pecker out. Left the stage and basically did the rest of the entire show on the security gate in front of the crown. Took 4 security dudes to keep him from jumping into the crowd. He was piss drunk and a pretty horrible mess at the time. Pitifully overweight looking like Elvis during his bloated years. Entertaining, non-the-less.
