The Costello version may be the most depressing song ever (different from saddest -- but don't ask me to define that difference). The original is almost happy-go-lucky by comparison.

I literally tear up every time I listen to this song, and my dad is still very much alive. If my dad had died recently I'm not sure I would be able to get through this one
