Steve Marriott of Humble Pie - passed out drunk while smoking a cigarette and died in the subsequent house fire.
Keith Relf of The Yardbirds - electrocuted himself playing a guitar through and ungrounded amplifier.
Terry Kath of Chicago - accidentally killed himself with a gun he thought was unloaded.
Buddy Holly, et al, and Patsy Cline, et al - died in plane crashes when their non-instrument rated pilots flew into Instrument Meteorological Conditions.
John Denver - died when the Light Sport Airplane (Long-EZ) he was flying crashed off the California coast. A contributing factor to the crash was the odd placement of the fuel selector valve, pilot distraction, and inadequate pre-flight planning.
Bobby Fuller of the Bobby Fuller Four - found dead in the backseat of his car in 1966; the case remains a mystery after nearly 60 years.

It is sad that people believe that story that was spread by her agent
At least we got a good joke out of it (If only she'd given that sandwich to Karen Carpenter...)

Blaze Foley. Blaze had befriended an old man whose derelict son had been abusing. One day Blaze is over at the old man's house when the son busts in and tries to steal the old dude's welfare checks. Blaze tries to intervene and gets capped in the process.

Was my Buddy Holly "bad news on the doorstep" hearing about his death on the radio the morning after he died.

Sounds similar to a local (Denham Springs) Elvis impersonator.

Im the same age as Michael Hutchence was when he hung himself in his hotel room.
The start of his downfall was after he fell and hit his head.

It's got to be someone in their prime. Elvis, or even Chris Cornell, were well past their primes.
Duane Allman, Randy Rhoads, Hank Williams, Jim Croce, Layne Staley and Buddy Holly are great examples.

Karen Carpenter. Exceptional talent. They’d probably be releasing albums today had she not passed.
Her brother was a prick and their mom a real battle axe.

What was the old joke? If Mama Cass had shared her piece of chicken with Karen they'd both be alive.
