Do yall think their music was any good after Layne Staley died? I really only listened to their albums when he was alive and haven't listened to any of their music after. Wanted to get your opinions on that.

Jerry Cantrell is amazing.

The Devil Put Dinosaurs here is their second best album. All the William Duvall stuff sounds basically the same but its still really good.

Of course with Cantrell as the driving force. I like all 3 albums. Rainier Fog is underrated as a solid rock album of the last few years. Give it a few listens, it's really good.

This is pretty much how I feel. This album is pretty great though:

All 3 albums are great, and I agree with the poster that the Devil put dinosaurs here may be their 2nd best album (maybe tied with Jar of flies for me)
Anyways, here's a few songs to sample to get a feel of the post LS albums.
All Secrets Known
Hollow
Red Giant

Better?...maybe, maybe not.
But music was better and more important when Layne was with them.

LOVE Jar of Flies. Listen to at least couple songs on there every single day.

Cantrelle's solo albums are great as well. Boggy Depot is my favorite.

I love both era's of AiC. Jerry Cantrell is the magic in that band.

I’m prefer the Layne era.
But Jerry is an incredibly underrated musician.
As good as Layne was , Jerry was the real driving force behind the band from its inception

Ah, but without Layne, the aura of self-deprecation and self-hatred that defined them lyrically wouldn’t exist. The presence of those things on Facelift and Dirt set them apart.

I admit I haven't listened to much since the glory days.
But I did see them live in 2016 and they were fantastic.
William Duvall is a great singer and guitarist. Nothing lost in AIC...

This.
While there will never be anyone to replace Lane and his voice William Duvall brings his own brand of greatness to AIC and works just as seamlessly with Jerry Cantrell as Lane did.
As far as their music, Jerry was the main driving force behind AIC creatively so that hasn't changed.

This over and over. When I tell people this they look at me like I'm nuts.
Can't wait for them to release another one.
