The Shinedown one in 2010 was embarrassing...the crowd, I mean. The band was surprisingly decent. Not a huge Shinedown fan, but they put on a good show.

Here's a short list of what I can remember: Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan/Rolling Thunder, Rod Stewart and the Faces, Elton John, Grand Funk Railroad, Yes & George Harrison.

Match half that and you'll have a successful arena.

The New Orleans Arena opening in 1999 was huge factor in bands skipping Baton Rouge & going to the bigger market in NOLA.

Guns n Roses in '92 was legit.

Other than LSU-UNLV game, that is my favorite PMAC event.

Saw the Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen, and Jimmy Buffet. The Centreplex (River Center?) got most of the good shows back in my day.

Saw Elton John in '74 at the height of his popularity. Paid 8.50 to watch Springsteen on The River Tour...It lasted 3:30 hours...He came back for Born in the USA...he played for 3:45 hours...Zeppelin came in '77, George Harrison came, Fleetwood Mac came...For the 60's generation, ask about Independence Hall!

Duran Duran in '84. Good show, I've always liked their early music. Most notable thing was the male to female ratio which was off the charts and you probably don't have to guess which way. Just a massive sea of beautiful girls. I've never seen anything quite like it.

I can only imagine how incredible Duran Duran must've been live in the early 80s, particularly their 1984 tour. Still cranking out the music too and Simon doesn't look like he's aged past 40 nor does his crazy beautiful wife.

This kid has a foolproof plan. Bum money and use it to hire an act.

quote:

Phase one of my plan involves securing the money necessary to book a great act... Companies such as Raising Cane’s, Shell Oil, Lamar Advertising, and Marucci could donate money or services to help the cause... If necessary, the remaining funds could be generated by ticket sales.

You mean use a sponsor for an event? You act like that's a crazy concept.

Radiohead opening for REM. To be honest, sort of disappointing. REM definitely had better nights.
