I listened to an interview with him many moons ago. He said he could not walk down the street without getting mobbed.

Then after the glow faded, he walked down the street and wondered "doesn't anyone recognize me.?" He laughed.

The old timers will remember this, that Humble Pie lineup with Steve Marriott singing was solid

Nea

I was at the concert in Chicago back in the 70s (77?) when he was pelted with milk jugs. He sucked then, and he did nothing after that.

I remember as a young teenager when Frampton Comes Alive came out thinking “came alive from where?” and “who the hell is this guy?” One big popular live album for no apparent reason and then he faded away.

Frampton Comes Alive was one of the great live albums of the rock era.

Absolutely Yea!

Seem him twice. Great guitarist. Great voice.

I actually read his autobiography a couple of years ago. Some interesting stuff there. Seems his manager was connected to the Genovese family. And while PF said that any issues during tours, recording, whatever were "handled", the guy also kept him drugged up to cover his financial dealings (stealing) and after his huge burst of fame he wasn't left with much.

He also went to the same school as David Bowie growing up, and Frampton's Dad said Bowie was one of his best art students. After Frampton's career cooled Bowie asked him to play guitar on his Glass Spiders tour.

He has a progressive muscle disorder that affects his fingers, but still tours and records as long as he can.

Book is a quick read if you're a fan.

Yea

I was a young teen in 1976 when Frampton Comes Alive! came out.

I remember sitting around with a few friends playing Do You Feel Like We Do over and over again trying to figure out what Frampton was saying during the talk-box segment of the song.

We came up with some really crazy lyric interpretations.
