You don't rise to this rank by not knowing what you're talking about, skippy.

I nominate that "Come On Eileen" song. By golly that one's a peach, I tell you!

Overlooked hits is kind of an oxymoron so not exactly sure what we are looking for here.

Dishwalla - Counting Blue Cars
James - Laid
Local H - Bound For The Floor
Meat Puppets - Backwater

ETA: Oleander - I Walk Alone

My bad. Could have sworn "No Myth" by Michael Penn came out in 1990 but it could have been 1989.

Another great one:

Space Hog - In the Meantime

True. Should be "forgotten single releases" or something like that. A large percentage of the songs mentioned so far were actually played to death BITD and are routinely name checked when simply talking about 90s songs in general. Don't know how that amounts to being overlooked.

I'd guess it to mean under appreciated, which a lot of the songs listed weren't even that and, like you said, were played to death. Hey Jealousy for one. You couldn't go a few hours without hearing that song in fall of 93.

One song I don't see very often in Best of 90's lists, which I think is one of the best songs from the 90's, is Carry the Zero by Built To Spill. It definitely got a LOT of play on the college rock stations, but I never really heard it outside of that.
