I didn't realize there were more than one. That one being Chris Cornell of course.

You don’t think Layne Staley was any good?

Cornell was amazing at hitting those high notes, Staley was more unique. They are 1a and 1b

Cobain was the best grunge vocalist. Cornell was the best pure rock vocalist of that group, though.

Is Scott Weiland considered grunge? I'd put him over Staley.

Cobain
Vedder

Just never cared for EV.

We have this thread a lot.

I think the consensus is that Cobain, songwriting prowess notwithstanding, is the clear trailer of the 4 (some folks toss in STP's Scott Weiland for comparison, too, baw).

For me, Cornell and Staley are too close to call for the top spot. And this is not anything bad about Vedder, just good things about Cornell and Staley.

Nah, both are instantly recognizable.

My vote is Cornell.

Staley all day. Cornell had the better voice. Staley did more with what he was given. His voice was just amazingly emotive like Shannon Hoon.

Cornell is clearly the best and Vedder is clearly the worst.

Mark Lanegan should be in this conversation .... especially since he's still putting out quality music
