Nickelback most uncool rock band ever?

In all the years I've been a rock fan, there's one rock band more than any other that I've always heard negative things about despite their mainstream success and that is Nickelback. I've heard everything from they're gay, lame, untalented, etc. to they have horrible lyrics, Chad Kroeger looks weird, etc. Rock fans in general just dismiss them and I feel like if you were to say you're a big fan of Nickelback, your cred as a rock fan with good music tastes would take a sharp nose-dive.
To be honest, I don't think Nickelback is the worst band in the world, despite their lyrics being shallow, they actually have some decent songs that have a crunchy guitar sound (Follow You Home, Next Contestant, Just For). "This is How You Remind Me" and "Someday" are songs that have sing-along melodies, and also are okay songs.
Overall, along with Creed, Nickelback takes the cake for most-bashed and criticized modern rock bands. So, in your opinion, despite the negatives, what, if any, redeeming qualities do you think Nickelback has?

I dont think they're all time bad, they're just super generic.
I would take Nickelback over Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance - that shite is all time bad.
I probably like Nickelback more than Blink 182 and Sum 41 as well, keeping in mind that the only Blink and Sum songs I've ever heard are the ones that get played on the radio.

"This Is How You Remind Me" was their best song. And as a song, it still sounds good today.
Nickelback suffered from a couple of problems. One is that they took the formula from the success of "This Is How You Remind Me" and "Someday" and they just reworked it until no one could stand it anymore. It just became insincere and false. Like they were selling out when they had already won.
But they also figured out the hard way that people get tired really quickly with rock acts that won't go away.

I seriously cannot figure out why the frick people hate on Creed so much. Yeah, Stapp sounds similar to Eddie Vedder but they were a legit post-grunge/alternative rock band.

No one can tell me that the songs What If, Bullets, My Own Prison, Beautiful and Illusion aren't damn good songs. That destroys anything Nickelback could ever dream of recording. shite, the two big singles from their last album, Overcome and Rain, were damn good tracks.
