Country has changed in the past 10 years. It used to be all douchey bro country. Then, it changed into every other song being about worshiping your girlfriend and how she is like heaven and worthy to be praised. Now, every other song is a duet. I have to listen to it at work, but I’m glad I found good red dirt and tx country to fill the void for me.

I wish they could get the Bakersfield sound back. Dwight Yoakam is underrated because Nashville ignored him on purpose back in the 80s and 90s.

I discovered country at a young age in the 90’s, and I have a special fondness for that era (early 90’s thru mid 2000’s).
Most of what has been popular in country from 2010 onward… let’s just say I don’t care for it. Not saying it’s all bad, but a lot of it just doesn’t align with the country music I grew up with. Luke Combs is probably the closest “modern” country star that is reminiscent of the 90’s era.

Few things ruffle my feathers more than some of the bullshite that is considered country music these days. Russell Dickerson and Walker Hayes have to be the two worst out of any of them. Their shite is absolutely pathetic and a sad attempt at trying to be current and/or relevant in country music.
