You started a thread to tell us 1. that your son like a band that millions of other people like... and 2. that you got him a stocking present.
Do you own the movie rights to this story...? If not, dibs.

Yes I did, cause he's still in that phase where Santa's real and he digs great music.
When you get kids, enjoy that shite to the last minute it's possible, because it ends quickly in this innocence killing world we live in.

I love SMB, too. However, I've never forgiven him for a song entitled, "Abracadabra".
Just terrible.

Saw them a few years back. They can still rock.
The concert will be a blast.

Scruffy must be high on some of those cleaning chemicals.

Hold up: he still believes in Santa at 11 years old?

Here's an obscure SM instrumental, a really nice piece of music:

I have taken him to Steve Miller, Alter Bridge, Jack White and Frampton and he's still 13. He can play a Les Paul like a killer too. Love me some Pimp Jr. Kid has mad game for a 13 year old. I don't deserve him. To share a music passion with your own son is like a crazy gift, almost like perfection. To sit and listen to "Eat a Peach" and have him deconstruct it is like the best thing that's ever happened to me. Whenever we have a rough patch we just go for a three/four hour drive and listen to tunes and share that love of the music. It's like a built-in common ground that bonds us.
He likes Hendrix, Allman Brothers, Zep and SRV the best. Currently he likes Rival Sons a lot. I want to take him to the Rock and Roll HOF.

As a side note, best time to tell a child there is no Santa is during the early summer, right after they complete 5th or 6th grade, for several reasons.
Saw Steve M twice in the last 1 1/2 years. The black dude that does back-up vocals, a solo and "dances" is a riot. Seems he's there to primarily fire up the crowd.

Saw Steve Miller about 5 years ago here in Houston, great show!
Your kid is gonna love it! What a great memory he will always have. If going to New Orleans look to see if Anders Osborne is playing that weekend as well. He'd love it.
My Dad passed away five years ago this Saturday, he gave me a love for music I'll always carry and will try to pass on to my daughter. Few months before he passed I was going to see Derek Trucks Band with Gary Clark Jr opening....he wanted to go even though he was weak and would have to stand. It was the last show he saw but one hell of a show to go out on
