Music that you spent money on but now are embarrassed to admit.

Thank goodness I grew up in the era of piracy and streaming, so I don’t remember spending a lot of money on a cd or record that was a total bust.

As for guilty pleasure bands? I own my cringe

This should make for a fun discussion.

Silverchair (Twice!)

Sevendust

Stuck Mojo (Diamond Dallas Page was in their video and a rasslin’ belt was on the album cover. I kinda had to buy it.)

I’m not embarrassed now but I was as I was getting older that I had done this. I’ve only come around recently realizing a lot of people liked him.

I had every Weird Al cd up until running with scissors. I scourged every where for them. I even remember finding Polka Party in Manhattan when I was there with my dad on his business trip. It was one I couldn’t find anywhere.

The first cd I ever purchased was “Running With Scissors”. I also had “Dare to be Stupid”, “The Food Album”, “Straight Outta Linwood”, and “Poodlehat”

I'm the opposite on this one.. dismissed "She's So Unusual" when it first came out, but came around to realize its a brilliant pop record...

Why would you be embarrassed about that?

Looking back, it just seems kinda random and wacky and very much outside of what I listen to, now.

I got 7 albums for a cent and never completed the contract to buy 3 more at regular price. Does that count?

The first CD I bought was LFO. I went to Walmart the day it was released. It sucked arse. I think a couple of them passed away young too.

Took a girl to a flock of seagulls concert in like 1986 in Charleston. She was a fan, except for seeing small samples on MTV didn't have a clue who they were. It was a first date, didn't work out.

The concert was actually fun, people watching was the best part. They had another British group open for them, the fix? Maybe? Dang i miss the 80s.

The one that got a way!!!

Extreme II: Pornograffitti. The cassette. When I hear "More than Words" now it makes me want to stick sharp objects in my ears.

Due to peer pressure, I spent cash money, of which I had very little, on tickets to see 2 Live Crew at Club LaVela in Panama City Beach at spring break 1999, maybe? First and only time I went to PCB. One of the worst experiences of my life. I should have stayed at the hotel while everyone else went.

alot of 45s from musicland in twin-city mall

lots of tapes..LOTS. dexys midnight runners, styx mr roboto, flash gordon soundtrack, pyromania

probably the one genre i wish i would not have spent money on was grunge. i got heavy into that and honestly most of the CDs were shite and once i got tired of that, i never pulled another one out. what a waste.

Every Olivia Newton John album in the early 70's. Don't judge. I was still a pre-teen.
