Most underrated band/musician. Personal taste obviously.

Franke and the Knockouts. Like the Knack and Cheap Trick, they kind of embodied the early '80s revolt against disco and embrace of classic rock and roll.

I absolutely love Faces. Fantastic band.

For me - Dire Straits. One of my all-time favorites. Certainly they (more Mark Knopfler) get their acclaim, but I personally think it is inadequate.

The Smiths. How they never had a top 40 hit is beyond me.

Ra - great broad sound for a rock band with mix of heavy, middle eastern vibe, vocalist is fantastic

Check out cover of Every Little Thing She Does is Magic. I think only even close to major song was Do You Call My Name.

Good band to check out if you like any kind of rock and good vocals.

Dax Riggs- Hell of a songwriter & probably the best voice I've ever heard (live and on record).

Sum 41, especially the Chuck album

Streetlight Manifesto, that horn sound is so jazzy yet mixes well with the punk rock guitar and vocals and metal-influenced drumming with prog metal song structure.

How much does their place in rock history change if Rod Stewart doesn't decide to pursue a solo career and Ron Wood declines the Rolling Stones' offer? They accomplished so much in just four years.

I'd probably have to say King Crimson. I know they are worshiped among prog fans, but they have so many EPIC albums.

and Yo La Tengo.
