Would have turned 100 today. Can't imagine many humans that don't like, or respect the man.
Favorite Miles Davis record is Kind of Blue. A period where hanging with, and recording with an ensemble of other brilliant musicians was their greatest ride.
Nugs just released a lot of shows and recordings including a video of Live in Germany in 1987.
Bottle of Red and a stogie with Miles it is

Saw that. A lot of good shite on there spanning decades. One is from '49. I'm going to dig in here shortly.

I would just like to add that I once bought Miles Davis's album On the Corner, and it remains one of the most atrocious albums I've ever listened to.

Finishing up this Osaka Japan show from '75. Fonky as hell.

Agreed that On The Corner isn’t one of Miles’ best. But, when you change the course of Music (not just jazz) at least 3 times, you can put out a clunker. If you listen to On The Corner again, you’ll notice more experimentation from Bitches Brewplus him planting the seeds of future crosses between hip hop and jazz

I grew up with Kind of Blue. And it’s still one of my favorite Miles albums. But now that I’m older, I prefer Sketches of Spain more and more!

There’s a handful of jazz musicians who were skilled and privileged enough to appear on a stand-out album in their particular subgenre of jazz. Myles was so rediculously, ludicrously skilled, he has a genre defining record in nearly every subgenre of jazz. Just an absolute force of nature who could do it all from dixieland to bebop to cool jazz to fusion.
Imagine an athlete who manages to somehow make it into the MLB hall of fame, have a superbowl MVP, win the NBA All Star slam dunk contest, gold medal in figure skating at the Olympics, and defeat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania before retiring to invent UFC and run a successful F1 team. That’s Myles Davis in the jazz world.

I'm looking for some help here. A few years back, I made an overt attempt to "get into" Miles Davis. It just didn't click. What are some good entry points to try again?

IMO Kind of Blue is the easiest, most accessible entry point for Miles' music.
