I've been predicting they will go away as fast as they arose. Outside of that girl's voice I don't think they have the chops. I could be wrong, but I think they are a one-trick pony and won't make it.

I regrettably agree they will have to follow the debut up quickly if they hope to sustain the relevancy.

I absolutely love the Truckers. Great band and terrific live shows, despite what Doc says. They are a real band -- they can just get up there a jam. Though it is clear they are in their decline phase now that both Isbell and Tucker have left the band.
Just a great rock n roll band with very little BS.

Cooley - Women Without Whiskey
Isbell - Decoration Day
2.
Brighter Than Creation's Dark. Mrs. Baloo will hate me for this, as she loves Isbell the best, but their first album without Isbell really works because Hood and Cooley are just so self-assured on it. It's a wonderfully moody album and it's an album that just works as a whole. And it has such a great closer in Monument Valley.
3.
Cooley. I love pretty much everything about Cooley. He only writes a few songs, but he is a perfect judge of his material.
4.
I absolutely agree. I saw them with the Hold Steady, and it was one of the greatest nights of my life. Just a night of fun rock n roll made by master storytellers.

They just bore me to tears honestly. Aside from the isbell songs, not much they've put out has interested me.

As for the DBT questions:
Patterson: hard to say with him because there are so many, most recently it would be Ray's Automatic Weapon
Cooley: Marry Me
Isbell: Decoration Day
I could go back and forth on favorite songs for Hood and Cooley depending on my mood, but Isbell stays the same for me. I want to eventually write a screenplay based on that song.
2. List your favorite album and Why: Decoration Day. I just think it's the best from start to finish. Dirty South is a close second. I really don't think they've put out anything close to a bad album, though. I know some people don't like their last two, but I do. I love Go Go Boots. I'll never understand when people get all pissed that a band might mellow out a little bit on their studio stuff after they've been at it a long while. I love how Assholes is a direct "letter" to their former label. You just don't see bands do stuff like that on albums.
3. Favorite DBT vocalist: Isbell then Hood then Cooley then Shonna
4. Pump the breaks. Great band, but just pump the breaks on that.

I've tried to like them, but they're just kinda crappy to me. Especially Paterson Hood's no singing arse. I could name the songs I like on 1 hand..

Everyday I find myself liking a different DBT song. I think it would be very difficult to pick just one from each singer. I love asking the question in the OP and seeing what each fans answer is

this. one of my favorite bands, and a great live show.
