1. Post your favorite songs by each of the big 3 singers.
Patterson: The Righteous Path
Cooley: Cartoon Gold
Isbell: Danko/Manuel
2. List your favorite album and Why: Dirty South. It was when all 3 singers were clicking and making some of their best music.
3. Favorite DBT vocalist: Got to give the nod to Isbell, but Cooley is a close second
4. DBT is possibly the greatest band of our time.

favorite album is Southern Rock Opera - That was the first one I really liked and the first tour I saw them on. Holds special memories.

When I say this, I mean in the last few years...DBT is in a small collective that makes fantastic music all the time. Not of all time though. That is a special category for another discussion

Actually, I would argue that their music has been very hit and miss in the last few years. IMO, their best stuff is about 10 years old, or more.
I've always liked the truckers sound and I identify with their lyrics. Sometimes I feel like Patterson and Cooley could've gone to high school with me. rural small town upbringing, lots of partying.

I can agree with you on all of this. Go Go Boots was a mild disappointment, but had some shining moments (Cartoon Gold, Fireplace Poker, Used to be a cop) but the Big To Do was pretty good.
However, Bad DBT albums>>>>100% of todays radio hits.

as many times as i've tried to get into this band i just cant outside of like 7 or so songs.

Same. But its like 5 songs for me.
Saw them at the varsity, and left after 20 minutes because I was extremely bored.

If it was the show from 3 or 4 years ago where Don Chambers and Goat opened I don't blame you. That was the weakest DBT show I've ever seen. Poor overall song selection and just never really got it going. I've seen them put on fantastic shows where the energy was great from beginning to end.
although I'll admit, they aren't everyone's cup.

I don't know if I saw the openers, or of there were any.
It was about 3-4 years ago, and it was beyond lame. The sound was awful too.

2)Southern Rock Opera (2 disc concept album that defines the DBT's IMO) As far as the Album with the most of my "favorite songs" I'd go with "Decoration Day"

5) IT'S GREAT TO BE ALIVE!!!!
Edit: 6) Everyone who has even a mild appreciation for this band should watch "The Secret to a Happy Ending" it will change/enhance your opinion of the band.

I think all of them have their qualities I like... Something about Cooley's songs that give 'em the edge...
As years go by, I find them less and less interesting, although they still produce good songs. Just kind of the same ol'
There solo efforts appeal to be even less...

You can also thank John P. Strohm (former Blake Babie and Lemonhead) who is now their lawyer and promoted the hell out of them (Alabama Shakes) last year

This is who launched their career. He's the master behind the curtain and hype.
I've never seen a band rise from obscurity so fast as the Alabama shakes have.
Not in recent years anyways. That guy is incredible.
