Both are equally good in their own right, yet substantially different.

Which version do you prefer?

Electric

I thought the unplugged version was really silly.

I like the electric much, much better. Never cared for the acoustic at all.

Granted that may just be me as I don't really like sloooow acoustic songs anyway.

I wasn't a fan of the unplugged fad. But had I been, the unplugged version lacked the piano outro, which in the original, took the song from great to epic. So it loses on that alone, regardless of the boring, lazy swing.

Electric by a lot. The unplugged was dull. I get it, they wanted to do something a little different - but that's all it was, different. It didn't improve or come close to the original.

Having said that, "Running on Faith" from that unplugged was damn good and probably the best of the whole set.

Due to the fact that the inspiration for the original version was Clapton‘s muse Pattie Boyd, and he sang it to her when it was finished, the original version would be my preference.
You can hear the anguish in his soul in the original version.

Man, the dislike for the acoustic caught me off guard. I’m not implying that I like it better than the original, but I like the rendition — the incorporation of the piano is nice. It’s a nice, toe-tapping jazz tune. For whatever reason, it always reminds me of the French Quarter on a slow spring or summer weekend day

Ditto. I reject the entire unplugged movement. I have yet to find a song that it improved - and it ruined many, Foo Fighters - Everlong being the poster child.

The acoustic doesn't feature Duane Allman.

Electric, easily.

Clapton played the acoustic version at Jazzfest a decade ago. Was crap

Best part of the show was Paul Carrack singing How Long.
