So much good music going on ALL week...wish I could do more shows. I want to sneak out the office right now and boogie on.

I envy the people from out of town who will be here all week with nothing to do but see shows and get weird.

Better than Ezra was great.
Claxico was an unexpected treat
Midnight Disturbers Brass band was disturbingly funky
Earth, Wind, and Fire were fiyah as to be expected.

The rain put a real damper on the day, but still a good day. Driving home was terrifying, though.

Any suggestions for bands to see Saturday?

Besides the obvious Fleetwood Mac and Phoenix. I'm gonna see Mutemath for a while also. Pretty sure Galactic is playing?

I'm playing drums on Sunday with the Wild Tchoupitoulas. I'vealways preferred the smaller, local festivals in Nola, but I'm looking to getting backstage and not fighting the crowds.

This one will be hard to fit in with Fleetwood mac and galactic and phoenix all getting my attention. But I love her voice, so i'll head that way.

Lettuce was sick tonight, sit in by Nigel hall and I think the chick singer from warren Haynes band. Warren Haynes sit in with soulive right before Lettce started.

Nigel hall band closer was awesome and if you haven't seen London sounds check them out. Guitar player can bring the heat with the best in the world. And they have original old school rock songs. Gotta love jazz fest

I've heard chatter of a Trey Anastasio appearence during Michael Ray's show tonight at Cafe Instanbul. I have never been to that venue but am considering going to see if Trey shows up.

If not I'll probably just pass out after Fiya Fest, especially considering I woke up this early

2 other good late night shows are The New Mastersounds at HOB and Dr Klaw at Maison
