i heard they were amazing back in '09 when they played HOB in New Orleans.

i'd pay a solid amount of money to see just the two of them play songs off stuff before brothers in a smaller venue. they just needed to turn the damn sound up. there was no energy in their set.

That was 08 and it was good, but the best in NOLA was their show a few months later during late night Jazz Fest 09 at CAC, which is odd because that venue usually has pretty shitty sound.

My favorite gig I've ever seen them play though is Bonnaroo 2007

i imagine that might be some of it - ive heard of great sets from others but the times ive seen them (yesterday, and at the final four event) were outdoors and just a disaster soundwise... both times had similar effects of just seemingly like it didnt carry well in the open space and elements.
