Arcade Fire, Florence and the Machine, and Bon Iver all put me to sleep. What happened to bands like AC DC or Bon Jovi?

Is there even an argument against this?

Jack White and My Morning Jacket disagree, but yes for the most part rock has faltered. While there are some good rock bands out there, they are quite difficult to find.

It’s not AC/DC, but I suggest everyone check out Highly Suspect. They’ve been nominated for two Grammys now. They play hard, driving blues rock. The lead singer has a phenomenal voice that reminds me of Chris Cornell. I really enjoyed every single song on their first album titled Mr. Asylum.

Ghost is a bright spot in today’s rock scene.

This is talked about all the time. There is good music out there. Expand your horizons.

God is an Astronaut

Alice in Chains new album is good

Ghost entire discography is great

Dave Matthews new album is good

A Perfect Circle new album is good

If in terms of new bands then yes, not that much great music. but if you are talking about new music being released then i respectfully disagree

There is a ton of rock music I have enjoyed this decade. Like pretty much every decade since the 60s. Personally, I have little to no interest in AC/DC or Bon Jovi, so I may not be a good person to ask though.

They were 1 trick ponies and didn't last?

There are still rock band's kicking arse that have been around a while (QOTSA) and new ones (Titus Andronicus).

It's really hard to say if this decade is the worst...It depends on what type of rock music you like.

Most people on this board are stuck in the past when it comes to rock.

I think you are mixing up the word “decade” with the word “generation.”

Bon Iver isn't exactly a rock band.

But nothing about the bands you mentioned makes me yearn for this pedestrian crap.
