You can accuse the dead of many things, but being overall uninspired is not one of them.

Tough call, both are pretty awesome - dead just had a much longer run to put out some good shite.

Little Feat definitely had the superior studio output.

I'm not a devotee, or anything, but the Eagles are 100 times better than the GD.

You have to take mind altering drugs, to like that crap. Pretty sure that's why all Deadheads are stoners.

Jam bands are cool but be weary of the rabbit hole or else you’ll start listening to Phish, and that’s pretty gay.

There’s an entire station devoted to Phish on XM radio. That’s the worst shite I’ve ever heard. I just thought I hated rap/urban until I heard Phish. How does something so horrible get it’s own station?

Dead never did it for me either.

Love the Dead too, but hell yeah. little Feat is the most underrated band of all time.
Willin’ is such an awesome song I need to listen to Little Feat more.

Anyone bashing The Dead is wrong. It’s science.

Ripple and Touch of Grey were playing on repeat for me in college. I always preferred listening to the live Dead stuff over their studio stuff. And to the guy who said the thing about the lifestyle, that’s true for the most part, but some of us like to listen to Jimmy Buffet, the Dead, the Allman Brothers, Jim Croce, etc. sober in our cars

The Dead are the most overrated noodling shite band in the history of rock and roll.

What did the deadhead say when he got out of rehab?

What is this shitty music you’re listening to?

I've seen a lot of concerts in my 50 years. I can count on one hand the number of times I thought the damn roof was coming down. They all occurred at Dead shows.

I mean, I like the Dead and and I like Phish. I very much understand Tucker's reasoning for liking the Dead. He's also a self-admitted Trust Fund baby, which fits a particular group of touring fans.

I saw 'em once, Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, '82. A guy I worked with was a huge Deadhead and talked me into going. The crowd and the scene was interesting, but I ended up feeling sorry for them - just a bunch hippies who hadn't grown up. Whatever.

The show itself just confirmed my bias going in - sour sounding off key noodling. Not my cup of tea.

I do like Jerry's acoustic and bluegrass stuff.

Said the same thing until I went to a show... Opened my eyes and ears and gave me a whole new perspective on music. All about the layers maaannn. You can’t just eat the icing off the top of the cake.
