Another one of these insufferable threads lol

My little brother listens to music that sounds like a room full of fax machines fricking. Its excruciating. But ive watched him jump around with his headphones in and its a joy to behold. Like the the first time I ever heard Ramble On by zeppelin. So while it may give my ears gonorrhea I appreciate the fact that certain people derive great pleasure from it

Hold on, I'm gonna go start a thread about that too.

queens of the stone age just released a new album and it's awesome.

rock is far from dead. it's just not played on pop radio for the most part anymore.

As a genre it's certainly on life support. When you have to reference 3 or 4 albums a year to prove its existence its not a great sign

There are way more than 3 or 4 rock albums I like each year. In fact, I usually can't even get to all the albums I'd like to try, due to lack of time.

I don't know if its dead but I do know that I got bored of listening to it after a few decades. Now I mostly listen Latin Reggaeton and Romanian Dance Music.

Ive seen some of the bands you tout on here and I would use the term "rock" very loosely. at least in a conventional sense

And thats not a slight. I listen to a handful of the same bands

Metal is still very much alive. Need to find it in the depths of Spotify but I have made playlists with new bands that sound pretty damn good.

that sound like Pantera

lol.

yes there are still rock bands. yes they will always exist. yes you might have to look a little harder.

there are literally too many for me to list, so i'll just plug a song that i was listening to on my way to work this morning Pile - "Baby Boy" catchy hooks, with a bit of a bite to them. reminds me of early indie rock, with some grunge.

It's not dead, it just isn't played on the radio. Classic rock means playing Bryan Adams, then Foregner, then Boston- over and over. Here are some bands that can still rock.

Black Country Communion - deep purple and led zep had a baby.

Texas Hippie Coalition - Pantera wanna be with a large smelly singer

Winery Dogs - soundgarden and prog had an autistic child.

Blackberry Smoke - Skynard has been reborn.

Iron Maiden - last couple records are great

David Gilmour - new blueray of Pompeii comes out later this month.

Freddie Nelson/Paul Gilbert United States of America- great Vanhalenesue rock

Check these out, rock aint dead just hard to dig through the BS to find it.

I once thought it was dead but you just have to look harder. you wont hear it on your local pop station minus a few electro-rock songs. Rock is live and well on spotify with some of it being great stuff. Also the return of 92.3 Alt rock station in the past few months has done wonders for me finding new bands/songs i like.
