Is Rock dead?

I mean real Rock, not this 'Of Mice and Men' bullshite that ITunes tries to pass as rock. Are there any bands left that sound like Pantera? Yes I know they are metal but still... I mean bands that still have a sack between their legs. That aren't afraid to shred on their instruments. Maroon 5 is not Rock.
I'm sick of this Mumford and Sons rock scene. I know about Royal blood, the sword (meh), highly suspect (they seem ok), what's some other suggestions? I'm tired of this pussy generation of rock.

Man, it's amazing that this board has existed for as long as it has without this thread being started hundreds of times.

There have always been different segments of rock that many consider bad. Pantera is not something I'd consider as your average rock band. They are in their own segment as well.

I get that. I just used Pantera as an example because that's what I was listening to in the gym.
There just doesn't seem to be any bands nowadays that aren't throbbing vaginas. I think SOAD was probably the last band that truly stood for something, albeit I'm not crazy about their politics but I can respect their willingness to write intelligent lyrics (sometimes).
Bon Iber is not rock, and guttural satanic shite is all metal has become.

I dare you to listen to Carseat Headrest's "Teens of Denial" and tell me rock is dead. You will fail

Villains debuted at #3 on the billboard charts. Rock isn't dead, it's just going through a lull. People said the same thing in the 80's, then the 90's happened

If you think rock is dead, you aren't paying attention
Also everytime we have this thread, I say listen to Titus Andronicus. So listen to Titus Andronicus. That Car Seat Headrest album lsu2006 recommended is great as well.

Yeah, I was going to post this as well. QOTSA is a prime example of how rock is not dead, although they've been around a while, but are still making great music.
I agree with Seaward as well.
Also check out King Gizzard - Nonagon Infinity.

Kid Rock is running for political office
I'd say rock is at its peak if anything

We get this thread every other week and the same bands are mentioned every time. This topic has been run into the ground more than Phish threads.

I'm partial to Flying Microtonal Banana, but they're both solid

Is rock dead...NO...but most music today is just terrible...good example is kayne west and the Kardashians...what garbage can't believe people watch that....
Posted on 9/11/17 at 7:03 pm to tigers1956
Huh? Kanye doesn't make rock. The Kardashians don't make music. Leave your incorrect sweeping generalizations on the shuffleboard court if you're not going to do it right.
There's plenty of good music out there. You just have to not be incompetent to find it.
