I realize that you may not like them but to say they suck is wrong. They are one of the most unique bands of the last 50 years. They own their sound like no one else. When you hear a song, you know it is them. And they are unbelievable live.

Yep...

I know it is marketing but their tag line is the "Worlds Greatest Party Band"....and if you seen them live you would be a big fan.

And how have you all not heard a lot of their songs that got radio play back in the day:

Private Idaho
Deadbeat Club
Planet Claire
Good Stuff
Channel Z
etc...

Booker T. wouldn't be very popular in today's world.

Eh. I can appreciate them for what they are, which is a tongue-in-cheek throwback to the late 50's/early 60's beach pop scene for those who were kids during that era, without being able to appreciate them for what they are, because that was before my time. They were the retrowave of their day. And "Rock Lobster" is a pretty catchy song.

I would love to be the B-52 of country music. Just something fun and stupid.
I actually strive to be that kind of thing sometimes.

There are no pulitzer prizes for deep lyrics w the b52s but they are a fun band. I've seen them 3 times and the last was 2019. Great entertainment high energy etc even when theywere 60+ yrs old.
They were the music of my youth and cawlidge so i will always like them. Appreciate them for what they are.

They stayed at the resort I worked at in Tempe and were utter assholes.
Thats disappointing. They always seemed they would be pretty easygoing. They also never seemed like they took themselves very seriously.
